After the girls had their lunch, they went back to the old man's house. Trixie saw a letter in the postbox and she gave it to Chloe. Chloe read the letter, "Mr James Martin, Is that him?" she concluded that the letter was from a lawyer. "But why?" Trixie asked.

"Guys, Hurry somethings on fire! Tootie yelled from inside the house and the two girls ran to Tootie's aid.

"What happened?!" Chloe asked. "The candle was burning and it fell on the cloth," Tootie explained. Tootie saw a chest. "I must know what's inside." said Tootie, Chloe told her not to. "Let's get out now!" Trixie exclaimed. Before the girls could escape, they were caught by Mr Martin.

"Didn't I tell you to stay away?" The man furiously said to the girls. He interrogated them thinking they were stealing his stuff. "No. There was a fire." Tootie explained. "We didn't know what to do." Trixie added. Chloe who was most afraid of the consequences cried, "Please don't kill us!" Mr Martin picked up the shirt and he smelled the clothing. "This was my favourite shirt."

Tootie explained what happened earlier. "No. The candle was burning and the wind knocked it down. I tried to save it."

The man picked up the candle and he said, "The candle was burning?" He asked the girls, "Where are you from?" Trixie answered first, "We're from Dimmsdale." Chloe asked Mr Martin "Do you know my godmother Wanda? She's a very nice and stern lady and she would be heartbroken if she sees me dead." Mr Martin stood up, "This is Trespassing. You must be punished," Trixie protested, "Please don't we're young. We don't know any better."

The punishment for the girls was to clean up his house and rearrange the antiques. "Why are we moving your stuff and what are they for?" Mr Martin looked at Tootie and he told her, "One day a tragic day may arrive and I need supplies." Trixie looked at Tootie, "But this toy?" Martin told Trixie,

"You never know,  One day you may want a toy and you'll remember that I have one and you don't." Tootie asked the man, "Do you have a family?" Mr Martin glumly replied, "Only one son, he's useless and he doesn't care about me."

Chloe was sweeping the house when she accidentally knocked over a box, The box contained letters from his son. She took one letter and she ran off. Tootie told the man that they had finished their chores, He told Tootie and the girls to leave as he was having lunch.
