Lucius Malfoy looked down at the two babies in his wife's exhausted arms, a rare smile gracing his face, replacing the sneer he was so often seen with.

"They're perfect," Narcissa said softly. "Perfect little bundles of love and happiness."

Lucius took the baby boy from Narcissa's arms, cradling him as though he was the most precious thing in the world.

"The perfect little Malfoy heir," he said, before glancing over at the baby girl still lying sound asleep with her mother, and adding, "and, of course, our perfect little girl."

Narcissa smiled at her husband's gentle handling of their baby boy, the promise of a perfect family making all the pain and exhaustion worthwhile.

"Draco and Pandora Malfoy," she said, taking her son back from Lucius and settling him down once again. "Our two little miracles."

She gently shifted both of the twins onto her chest, where they seemed to lean into one another, almost looking like they were going to wrap their tiny arms around each other. Lucius and Narcissa both smiled, feeling that, despite the war raging across the country, all was well.

Little did they know, it wasn't going to last.
