Chapter 6

Gamilla's POV

After the feast, the prefects walked the students to their dorms. I stay close to Peggy and Eponine. "Hufflepuffs! This way!" calls Gertrude Truman, one of our prefects. "The Hufflepuff dormitory is close to the kitchens. Come on! Keep up!"

We turn down a hallway and stop in front of a statue of a unicorn eating an apple with barrels in front of it. "Unlike the other common rooms, entrance to our common room doesn't require a password. But it does require knowledge and precision. You need to tap the barrel two times from the bottom in the middle of the second row, in the rhythm of Helga Hufflepuff. The rhythm changes each Saturday." Gertrude taps the barrels and the unicorn steps to the side reveling our common room.

"Your dorm partners have already been picked." I look at Eponine and Peggy nervously. "Girls' dorms up the steps to the right! Boys to the left. Doors have the names of who's in which! Lights out by 10!"

I run up the stairs looking for my name. "Gamilla! Found you!" Peggy calls from one door over. I open the door and see five yellow and black beds. Two have already been claimed. "Gamilla! You're in this dorm too!" "Eponine!"

I hug her and claim the bed next to the window. I look over at the other girl. "I'm Gamilla! What's your name?" I ask. "Hannah! Nice to meet you Gamilla!"

I sit on my bed and wait for the other girls. 

The door flings open and a girl runs in. "I'm Susan Bones!" she says out of breath. "I accidentally went to the boy's dorms." We laugh with her and then Peggy comes in. "Peggy! You're here too!" "Yep! I didn't notice my name," she says giggling. 

I open my trunk and pull out my pajamas. "Goodnight everyone!"
