I notice that once Jay and I get to the gym, practically everyone is staring at us. Jay is the only Volunteer here. Well, there is one other, she's a tall, beautiful girl who looks around twenty. Dark skin that practically glows, black hair that falls clear to her shoulderblades, in a ponytail even! I couldn't take my eyes off of her when I walked in, so she started fidgeting, obviously, with her death glares shooting towards me, she's noticed.

The reason I know she is a Volunteer, and how everyone knows Jay is too, is because of what we are wearing. Right before we got here, we were stopped in a room, handed clothes and ordered to change. I was given a loose fitting white t-shirt with a giant navy blue C printed across it, it takes up room on the hole shirt. My shorts, which are about eight inches above my knee, are the same navy blue color as the C, they are tight, and as I ran my fingers over them, I could tell instantly that they were spandex.

Well when I saw that everyone else was wearing what I was wearing, boys wearing comfy basketball shorts instead of the girls' spandex ones, I realized how easy Jay will be picked out amongst the crowd. His tight, grey (instead of white) t-shirt has a bright blue V printed acrossed it, his shorts are the same navy blue as everyone else though. The only other person who is looking like Jay, is the gorgeous girl walking towards me.

"What are you staring at?" she hisses once she is a foot away from me. She towers over me. She must be at least 6ft, because I have to look up slightly to look into my eyes, and she's about and inch taller than Jay.

"She wasn't-"he starts.

"Yea I was," I say before I realize I was planning to speak at all.

"Excuse me?" Her eyebrows raise and her lips part. "It seems like you have no reason to stare, cause' your buddy here is a Volunteer too!"

"Oh no! I was ju-"

"Shut up Jenna!" Jay snaps.

"Shut up Jay," I mimic, "I wasn't staring because you were a Volunteer!"

"Than what gives you the idea that it's good to just sit there, wide eyed staring at a random person?" she growls, throwing her hands up in exasperation.

"Uhh.." I rub the back of my neck awkwardly, "You kinda beautiful."

"I second that," I hear Jay sigh, turning his back to us.

"Is that why you were staring, Red?" she asks, a little tired sounding.

"I guess," I laugh at how stupid it sounds.

"Well I'm so sorry then!" she takes a step back and reaches her hand out towards me. "I'm Emella! Nineteen years old and ready to survive this stupidicity!"

"Stupidicity?" I ask as I shake her hand.

"Oh, I made the word up when I was like twelve! I use it when I'm facing something really stupid."

"Oh, well I'm Jenna, sixteen years old, and, I uhh, I guess I'm ready to survive this uhh, stupidicity too?"

"I'm Jay, seventeen years old, and stupidicity is my new favorite word!" Jay shakes her hand enthusiastically.

"Well, I gotta go find my brother Jonie. He's only twelve, why I volunteered. I'll introduce you guys to him later," Emella says before walking off.

"Well she sure is something..." I say in a pissed off tone, "think she's bipolar?"

"Maybe," Jay shrugs and nudges me in the shoulder.

"What're you doing?" I hiss.

"I wanna get your attention!" he grins, trying to hard to annoy me.
