Liam Yang

I rolled over in my bed sleepily. "Dude where were you last night? We were all hanging at Joe's after practice," I heard my roommate say as he opened our dorm room door.

I sighed rubbing a hand over my face tiredly. "I was out with this girl," I mumbled sitting up.

"Oh shit," Jackson laughed, sitting at the edge of my bed. "Who is she? She hot?" He asked stupidly, looking all excited.

I laughed, "Her name is Rosie," I replied, stretching. I opened up the blinds and reached for my phone. It was noon. I had a few hours until my first class.

"Oh, you're gonna smash?" He said nonchalantly, wiggling his eyebrows.

I rolled my eyes, "She's not like that. And no I'm not gonna 'smash' we're friends," I explained with a sigh. Of course she was beautiful, but I had never thought about her like that.

"Okay, whatever you say," He said. "Anyways, I gotta run. I just came to grab my book. See you at the meet tonight."

I nodded and waved him goodbye. I started finishing up my homework, and I had some cereal. I tried finishing up a lot of my work at once so I could just focus on my meet later.

I didn't know why, but the thought crossed my mind. It was absolutely too soon to tell if I liked Rosie like that. I'd only known her for like a week and half. And we never really talked outside of class except for yesterday. I kinda wanted to know more about her. I knew that she liked Disney, Sparkly clothes and Pumpkin Lattes, but that was about it.

I wanted to know more. And I wouldn't see her until next class in three days.

I did have her number though.

I shrugged and pulled out my phone. Maybe she'd want to come to my swim meet.

I was going to text her, but I didn't bother. I'd rather hear her cute voice.

"Hello?" She answered, her voice a little louder than regular. I heard music from the other line. Maybe she was busy.

"Oh, hey it's Liam. I was wondering you were busy tonight?" I asked.

She was quiet for a second, "Umm...I dunno' maybe kind of," She answered awkwardly. She sounded so cute. "Why?"

"I have a swim meet, and i was wondering if you wanted to come?" I asked hopefully.

"I would but I don't really know how to get there and I don't have a ticket," She explained.

Without thinking I blurted out, "I-I can walk you there. It's like a five minute walk from my dorm. Where do you stay?"

"I live in the Cass campus apartments on main. Near our class building kind of," She replied.

"Oh! I know where those apartments are. From there it's about a 30 minute walk. I can meet you and walk with you?" I asked.

"Y-Yeah that would be fine. Um. What should I wear?" She asked shyly. I thought it was cute that she was asking me that. "I've never gone to anything for sports."

"Do you have any of our school merch?" I asked. "That would be perfect."

"Nu uh, like. No," She laughed. I laughed too her voice was adorable.

"I have a sweatshirt you could borrow if you'd like?"

"Okay!" She said cheerily, which threw me off guard a little. "Um, I live on the second floor. Y-You don't have to come in my room or anything, just wait in the hall. But my room is 2106."

"O-Oh okay, ill be there around 4:30. I have to get there early to warm up. Sound good?" I asked.

"Yes! sounds funs," She giggled. She was so cute.

"Okay, bye Rosie."

"Bye-Bye!"

I couldn't help but tell, she was seemingly more comfortable with talking to me and hanging out with me. I was really excited for that.
