Chapter 2: Training and Tragedy

Time Skip

4 years

Stefan's POV

After returning home from our adventure to the cave where Silas and I learned that we were witches and that we had great power, we spent the next four years being trained in our powers. Our mother would take us to the cave a few days a week to practice our powers and to learn how to control them. We were also taught about the history of the supernatural world, we learned about the millennium old psychic named Arcadius who apparently ruled his own hellish dimension. I personally hope I never meet the guy because he doesnt sound like a very pleasant man to be around based on the stories mom told us.

We also spent a lot of time learning every single spell that our mother would teach us, and we practiced those spells more times than I care to remember. Our mother also briefly taught us about the magical groups that currently exist in the world, like the travelers.

Silas first learned how to control the fire element and he took a liking to it. He would sometimes "Accidentally" shoot a fire ball at me, somehow this doesn't suprise me at all. After one incident involving a fire ball and a few surrounding trees, our mother demanded that Silas learn how to control the water element next so that way Silas could put out his own fires because she was sick of doing it. As a result of Silas's control over the fire element, he excelled at spells that were fire related. He then proceeded to start working on his control over water.

Now me on the other hand struggled for awhile, who knew slowing down time could be so difficult (Note the Sarcasm). So in order to help me with my lack of progress, mom suggested that I try slowing down time for an individual object or thing. So i would sit in the middle of a clearing where my brother and i would go to practice our more dangerous powers and i used Silas as my target for my time powers. I would have Silas walk around at a certain speed that he could easily maintain and i would try to slow down time around Silas so that way he would move much slower. Apparently all i have to do is just picture Silas moving slower while using my power over time.

After many failed attempts at slowing down time around Silas, i was able to finally slow down time. Apparently all it took was a great deal of concentration, which is almost impossible when you have Silas as a brother because he can be the most annoying person in the known world. Apparently after so many hours of nonstop talking, Silas eventually does get tired of talking, who knew. Once i did it for the first time, it got easier afterwards. So i spent many months on slowing down time and i eventually learned how to stop time completely, which was incredibly weird because i did this during a magic lesson with my mom and i was confused on why my mom and brother stopped talking or moving. It took me a minute to realize that I had accidentally stopped time and i had to figure out how to resume time.

Now when I say that i stopped time i mean that i stopped the flow of time in a certain area, not for the entire world, that would be crazy and not possible for me to do no matter how strong i get.

After stopping time completely for the first time, I was exhausted and it took me two days to recover from using that much energy. Once i was fully recovered i spent months on getting used to stopping time completely, i did this until it got to the point where i was no longer exhausted from stopping time.
