Over a year, Jay and Y/n had broken off their engagement and their relationship as friends instead because they no longer felt the same towards another but held a strong friendship instead. Among Auradon's villages of her kingdom where french was the main language of choice as well english but she was visiting her grandfather Maurice in her mother's old village as the sun rose up in the sky, the young queen dressed in comfortable clothes and took a basket with her to head into town.
Y/n: "Grandpa, I'm off to get a new book from the village's bookstore and some other things, I'll see you at my castle later tonight." She said while walking into the living room seeing Maurice working on a new music box for a client before kissing his cheek lightly.
Maurice: "Be careful and safe in town, my little rose. Just like your mother always exploring the world one way or another." He said smiling as they both waved goodbye as Y/n left the cottage she began to sing a famaliar song.

Now at the age of eighteen years old, Queen Y/n had secretly been seeing a young man whom if her father knew who his father was would definitely roar at in anger but only Maurice, her mother, Ben and their closest friends alongside her own castle staff knew whom she was now dating for the passed year. Y/n walked passed the water fountain only to be suddenly picked up off of her feet by a set of strong arms.
Y/n: "Gil, let me down. You big sweet hearted hunter." She said while giggling happily before kissing his cheek lightly as he set her back onto her feet but held her close to his heart.
Gil: "I can't help it, the lioness queen has came for a visit to the village plus I had to get away from my dad's tavern and hunting lodge." He said honestly as he noticed Y/n shake in disgust from the thought of hunting down a live creature. "We're safe, Y/n after all our fathers don't know we've been together for a year now." He said smiling sweetly in his new clothes with a faux fur trimmed jacket on and his long dirty blonde hair back in a ponytail.
