Richard sighs as he stares up at the ceiling. it's been two years. two years since the only woman he loved walked out of his house and his life. two years since he gave up on living life to the fullest and two years since he lost the best fucking thing that's ever happened to him.

Courtney was an angel, the purest, most stunning thing he'd ever seen, with flowing black hair down to her waist and her ocean blue eyes. her face looked like a work of art. he remembers how she smiled up at him and kissed him long and passionate to show the world he was hers. he gave her his heart and she took it with her the day she broke up with him.
sighing yet again, he gets up from the bed and pulls on a shirt trying to look decent for Joel's sister's wedding which was in an hour. he was happy for Sunny, even if he felt a pang of jealousy when he saw her and her fiancé kiss. he wanted love like that. he craved love like that; easy to say but hard to find. he couldn't lie anymore. he spent two years loving Courtney and he couldn't stop loving her. brushing all thoughts of her away, he continued to get dressed.
*at the after party*
seeing Sunny so happy and love struck made richard smile. she deserved it after the hell she'd been through. but richard could not stop that feeling of want; the craving for someone to look at him and love him the same way Sunny did to Zayd. a movement in his peripheral caught his eye and his heart stopped.
Courtney Rosewood. in the flesh. after two whole damn years.
she looked a lot prettier now. her hair was cut, she had on just a light dusting of makeup and she was wearing a diamanté dress which accentuated her perfect body. as richard began to make his way to her, something stopped him. a man, tall and handsome made his way to Courtney, put an arm around her waist and kissed her. it was at that moment where richard noticed the diamond ring on her hand.

Courtney, his Courtney was married? richard felt his heart sunk when he saw courtney smile adoringly at her husband- the word felt sour on his tongue-as he went around mingling with people. he wasn't surprised to see her, considering she was sunny's best friend.

pulling on his best fake smile he made his way to her. "Courtney! lovely to see you" he said
"hi richard" she smiled shyly and her husband came up to the two of them.
"Alex, this is Richard my.." she trails off.
"friend" richard completes for her.
"and richard, this is Alex, my husband" alex shakes richards hand firmly and gives him a charming smile.
turning to Courtney he tells her that Sunny wants to talk to her and they both go , hand in hand walking away while Richard watches them.

He's heartbroken but if Courtney is happy, he's happy. she's moved on and he should too.
