Pain is a funny thing it can be consistent and yet still painful
You can deal with it, expect it, and still be shocked when it comes
It hurts every time
Every step hurts, jog, stair one at a time only way through
But then you hit a point
Your body stops feeling it, you know it's there but you don't want to stop
You want to keep going even if your ankle is sprained
Even if you're drenched in sweat
You can run from pain, but it always catches up
Stair by stair it catches up
Mile by mile it reaches you
The best feeling is when it stops
When you can breathe, go up stairs without holding your breathe
Pain doesn't leave, it doesn't stop, it just fades
But it's always there
