Chapter 9

Aries had already started to walk back home before I turned to follow him. I couldn't reslly see what he was wearing since it had gotten darker but I didn't want to waste time and keep the others waiting so I just kept walking. 

  When we reached the house, the door was opened by Taurus, who happily greeted us with a warm smile that made us feel at home. Much to my luck, nobody was in the room I prepared, instead almost everybody was staring at the curtains separating them from the room. Libra, Cancer, and Aquarius however, were playing a game of uno, petty rage filling their minds which died out in their laughter at the stupid retorts they would come up with against each other. 

  Before Aries could walk away, I grabbed his sleeve, covering his mouth and pulling him behind the curtains, on the opposite end of where everyone else was. Naturally, Aries slapped my hands away and was about to yell at me when I covered his mouth again. 

  "Shut up or they'll hear you, dipshit!" I whisper-yelled, earning myself a flick to the forehead. But he ended up nodding later and taking a moment to look around before speaking up. 

  "Why did ya drag me here..?" He asked in a low voice, moving closer to me so that I could hear. I shrugged, forgetting why I brought him, before suddenly remembering, slapping his shoulder in triumph. 

  "Ow." He faked, making me huff as I leaned towards him. He pulled away from me with what seemed like blush, tinting his cheeks.

  "Why have you been avoiding me?" I questioned, giving him some space. His expression was remarkable. His lips parted into a little o shape and he averted his gaze. If I'm being honest, it was kinda funny how he reacted. All of that strong will and this kind of reaction? Really slowed it down huh.

  "I'm waiting.." He mumbled, taking a step away from me as a body suddenly fell between us from somebody being on the other side of the curtain. When I saw Virgo cursing as she tried to  pull Taurus out of the room, mumbling about how they weren't there and we could keep talking,  all I could do was laugh, completely forgetting about Aries' words from a few moments ago. 

  Aries Pov

   Leo balled up on the floor in a fit of giggles, this being the only time I've seen him be so naturally happy. It was a nice change to his gloomy eyes..

  "I swear those two are so funny it's almost the same amount of cuteness energy Libra has." He giggled and huffed out. Ouch. That stung a bit, no lie there. I only hummed in agreement, holding out a hand for Leo to grab onto, helping him up. 

  He leaned in a bit too close for comfort, giving me the most wholesome and genuine smile in the world. 

  "Let's be friends, Aries!" He smiled even more, his eyes scrunching up along with his nose. Cute.  Not something to trust though.

 "Yeah, I can live with that." I returned the smile with less energy than the overgrown kitty in front of me. Let's see how it goes I guess.. I mean.. With Libra and him- 

  "So got a crush on lil Libra~?" I teased, ruffling his hair lightly, avoiding his ears. I heard from Virgo that cats have sensitive ears? I mean- it makes sense. However that didn't matter much right now, looking at Leo, whose cheeks happened to flare up at the mention of Libra. Yeah.. This won't go well... He's gonna be so hurt later.. I just know it. Poor baby won't recover from that heartbreak. 

  "Just like you used to.." I mumbled under my breath, watching the flustered male become confused.

 "W-What? I don't understand... What do you mean used to?" He asked. The moment I opened my mouth to speak, Libra pushed through the curtain, In front of me, latching onto Leo.

  "Let's party, kitty!" He yelled happily, just stealing my nickname for the boy. Like.. The utter disrespect- some people just never change.. And either way.. I'm gonna have to let this happen.. Again..... 

 Well damn.. Looks like luck is never on my side.

Plot twist? I think so.
