"I'll see you around" Niall winked and he disappeared into thin air.

I walk to the cafeteria. Alone as usual. Dragging my footsteps slightly. Niall, left me alone after English. He was annoying, vicious, irritating and I couldn't stand his weird way of talking and also his illogical, irrational explanations. I enter the cafeteria, finally. I get into the line and grab a tray. I look around to spot Jenna. But to my misfortune, she wasn't there. I hadn't noticed who was standing in front of me until when, "Hi." Josh Westford.

"Hey" I shyly reply to his greeting.

"Enjoyed English?" He asks.

"Always do" I smile.

"Let me guess. Favourite subject?" He raises his eyebrow. I nod in agreement.

"That was easy to predict. It's a saying that most of the beautiful girls enjoy English and usually major in English" he gives me a luxuriously charming lopsided smile. I instantly blush. I think I died a little at the way he just smiled. From the corner of my eye I saw Amanda walk in with her two sidekicks. Typical.

"Amanda" I spoke. Josh followed my vision.

"Yeah, we broke up" he said as if it was nothing.

"I don't want to intrude into your personal whereabouts but if it's okay may I know why?" I ask hopefully, I just hope I wasn't pushing too much.

"We had this football match yesterday and I was really tired. She calls me up and says she wants to go out. I rejected because I was really tired and she just cut off the rope" he smiles. Why is he smiling?

"She's..... well" I don't finish the sentence.

"A total shiznit" he laughs. I just smile. We grab our edibles. I take a sandwich, an apple and chocolate milk.

I walk away from his direction but he calls out, "Hey, Avanna! Mind joining us?" Josh smiles. That freaking smile.

"Um..."

"I'm not taking no for an answer." Do I have a choice now? I awkwardly walk to the table which is filled with football players. The most popular guys. Very hot that too, must admit.

"Guys, this is Avanna Thalamus" Josh introduces me to his flock.

"Hey" I wave,  awkwardly.

"It's alright, we don't bite" another blond laughed. Okay, my awkwardness is noticeable. Plus, there's only two girls on the table. Which now makes three, including me. I sit next to Josh. Why not? He seems okay with it.

"You're the most famous bookworm here, you know that?" A brunette guy spoke. Hazel eyes. Nice smile. Charming. I just got introduced to the world with very handsome looking boys.

"I um.... yeah, I guess" I stuttered. I didn't know what the guy said was a compliment or he was simply mocking me.

"Hey, Nate. Leave her alone" Josh chucked a cucumber slice from his sandwich at Nate's face. That was his name I think.

"Hey! That was actually a compliment. She's popular because she's a bookworm with a pretty face" Nate defended himself. Pretty face? Who me?

"No, I'm not popular" I say.

"You don't know?" Asks a blond.

"Know what?" I ask, cautiously.

"What Jake North did?" The guy asks. Now, all eyes were on me. Jake North? Oh, yes. Blond, green eyes, basketball player. He was basically the most fine specimen ever created. But he used to bully me. I hated him. But he transferred school, probably last year.

"What did he do?" Why was he being brought up whilst the fact he had no connection to the topic.

"He bullied you because he liked you. He gave you a confession letter and it seems you tore it away" the guy answered. What? That letter was from Jake? He liked me? I'm so unaware.

"Well, I didn't know that. And I didn't like him" I say plainly.

"He was hot though" a red head smiled at me. She looked friendly.

"Views differ" I say.

"You're cool" said another guy.

"Sorry I didn't get your names" I say, embarrassed.

"That's Nate, Sean, Avery, Vivien, Jace, Daniel, James, Ed" Josh pointed out. I smiled at every one of them.

"You should hang out with us more often and maybe bring along your friend. Jenna?" Nate says.

"He's got a thing for Jenna" Avery sings.

"Whatever floats your boat" Nate huffs in annoyance and we laugh. Speaking of Jenna. Where is she? The lunch break gets over and we catch back to our classes. It was actually my first time that I enjoyed my lunch. These guys aren't that bad afterall.

It was time for P.E. Not really my favourite thing to do.We went to our changing rooms. I put on my uniform. When I was done I saw someone leaning on the doorframe.

"You got quite the booty" he laughed. Is there any way more I could hate him?

"Niall. You. You. You're disgusting" I walk out of the room and walk as soon as possible to avoid that inhuman being. We were in the field, now. We were asked to run about 7 rounds around the gargantuan field. I already felt tired with the thought of running.

"Nice undies" he whistled. Too bad people couldn't hear him, but they'll hear me if I reply to him. I made a disgusted face. And started with the run along with other people.

"I think I'm dead" I said to nobody.

"No you're not" Nobody means somebody. Niall.

"What do you want?" I asked uninterested.

"When are you changing?" He grinned.

"Pervert" I whispered.

"I'm a guy. Can't help it" he smirked.

"Look you're gonna have to learn to respect my privacy" I whisper-yell.

"What if I don't?" He raises a threatening eyebrow. Really?

"I'll drown you in holy water" I tell him. He laughs. Loudly. I grab my things and walk to the changing room.

"Look you dare not look this time" I turn to face him but he was gone already.

I changed quickly and freshened up for my next class.

The last period was free. I walked to the library.

"Miss me?" Niall popped in front of me. Almost making me trip. I put a hand over my chest to calm myself down. He's got to have to stop that.

"Don't do that, dammit" I say.

"Sorry. You okay?" His apology and enquiry is not serious. The humour glints on his eyes. Jerk!

"So you had a good day huh? Despite the fact I wasn't there to accompany you. That Josh boy got to you, huh?" He smirks.

"Yea. I was happy that you weren't around" I tell him.

"Too bad, I missed you" he says, humorously.

"Whatever."

"Do you like him?" He asks, curious.

"As a friend."

"Oh, Jesus. That dialogue is too primitive" he says.

"Do I care about what you have to say?" I sigh.

"You will. One day. And one day you'll enjoy my presence. I admit that I tend to be annoying because I don't really like you" he says arrogantly.

"I could say the same" I answer.

It takes time. Little time. Don't rush.
