"I'm definitely never going to a party with you. Especially, after you've had a break up" I exaggerate. Well, it's true. She's absolutely hammered.

"So sad" Niall chuckles in the background.

"Nate, make sure she reaches home safely. If you try something on her, I'll not worry about stabbing you with a knife" I threaten.

"Ouch. I'm so scared" Niall rolls on my porch, laughing.

"She'll be home. I promise. And I'm not drunk. Well, not badly" Nate says. I nod.

"I trust you. Okay?" I say.

"I won't break it. You're best friend's safe. Goodnight" he gives me a charming smile.

"Goodnight" I wave as the car leaves the porch.

"You're such a motherly figure" Niall says.

"What's so funny? I was just looking out for my best friend" I tell him.

"Your face when you told him that you'd stab a knife at him" he laughs.

"Whatever" I stomped inside.

"You looked like Jack Sparrow" he continued to have his laugh. My mom was probably asleep. I left her a note. And I know, she trusts me. So I walk straight to my room.

"I thought you were angry because you left me alone" I tell him after I've changed into my pajamas.

"Why would I be angry?" He smiles.

"Because I asked you if you've ever fallen in love?" I say and as soon as the sentence falls out of my mouth, he's demeanour changes from sad to angry. He gets off of my bed and opens the window. The cold breeze slithering into the room through the fully open window. Niall, without a word jumps through it. I rush to look down but he had disappeared. I wonder, what happened before that this question turns him off so badly. Everytime I ask, he runs away. He's hurt in ways, his eyes show it all.

There's definitely no way I can go ghost hunting and bring him back. So, I slide it off. He'll come back anyway. I make myself comfortable under the covers and turn off the side lamp. Praying, tomorrow will be a good Saturday.

-------------

I flinch at the sudden assault of the light and the sound of the blinders being pulled off. I immediately sit, to see my mom.

"Good morning, Ava. How was the party last night?" She smiles.

"Good morning, mom. It was good until Jenna was completely drunk and was being absurd" I said in between yawns.

"Did she have a break up, again?" My mom asks, worry lacing her words.

"The usual" I say.

"She's such a nice girl. Maybe the boys she dates are not the right guys" my mother says, deep in thought.

"She doesn't listen to me" I huff.

"Young minds and hearts" she smiles. "All right, get freshened up and pack a bag" she says excitedly.

"What? Why?" Before I completed speaking, my mom was already gone.

"Because you're going camping" Niall says, uninterested and leans against the window.

"Ugh" I groan. I feel lazy already.

"Sorry, I left suddenly without any explanation" he says.

"It's getting typical of you to do that. Leave me mid sentence. No problem, I get it" I throw away the covers and walk to the bathroom.

----------

"Mom! Where are we going?" I shout as I rush downstairs. I stop in my tracks when I see my dad and older sister Rose sitting in the breakfast table.

"Ava" Rose gets up and engulfs me into a hug. I hear Niall whistle in the background. Jerk.

"I've missed you" I say.

"I did, too."

"Dad" I approach him and we hug.

"Look at you. All eighteen and grown up" he laughs.

"I sure am."

"We're going camping. It's a family project. We camp there, lot's of families will be there. We pay a little money that goes for charity" my mother says as she hands us plates of sweet potato pancakes with mapel syrup.

"When do we leave?" I question.

"Noon. We return tomorrow" my dad answers.

We eat in silence for awhile.

"So how's school?" Rose asks.

"Alright, I guess."

"Well, I met a great guy" Rose says. My mom's face lights up immediately.

"Tell me. Tell me all about it" my mom shrieks.

"I told you about the summer project, right? He's also a trainee like me. He's blond and he's got these beautiful hazel eyes. He's perfect" Rose gushes. My dad just laughs at her enthusiasm. I smile.

"And what's his name?" My mom further queries.

"Ryan Ragneir" she grins.

"That's great" I say, awkwardly. I mean, what else am I supposed to say?

Later, we disperse back to our rooms and start packing for a night and half a day.

"So that's your older sister?" Niall raises an eyebrow.

"Yes. Rose" I reply while I chuck clothes into my bag.

"She's hot" he smirks.

"Too bad, you're dead" I give him my best devious smile.

"What a pity" he sighs.

I don't say anything at this and he gets lost in thought.

"We're actually mending together as friends, slowly though" Niall gives me a genuine smile.

"Yes, actually" I nod in agreement.

"365 days will fly off sooner, I guess" he chuckles.

"Hopefully" I let out a exaggerating breath.

"You wound me" he says dramatically, placing his hands over his heart.

"Wounds heal" I say.

"But a scar is left behind too deep" he says dramatically. What a drama queen! I laugh.

"What 365 days are you talking about?" I ask once I stop laughing.

"I have a limited time of 365 days " he tells me.

"God, that's a very, very long time" I reply humorously.

"So till then I'll be around haunting you in and out" he says.

"Yea, a year" I say absent minded.

"Long time, huh?" He smiles.

"Long time" I reciprocate his smile and I finish packing soon after.

"Did you lock the house? Shut down all the windows? Do we have everything we need? Did we forget something?" My mom asks dad for probably the hundredth time since we came out of the hive.

"Yes, darling. Just chill" my dad tells her. "All right, put your seat belts on. Off we go" soon we're out of the porch.

"This is going to be interesting" Niall says as he appears in the last seat, stretching himself.

When you have hope, you are the strongest warrior with the strongest weapon.
