Glenn and I are still screaming the lyrics to the songs on the radio when that all too familiar cube van had come into our view.

With our highspeeds, we caught up in no time seeing the face of the newbie and hearing the whooping of the guy I've known the longest. It was almost poetic.

Shortly after, the song changed and the opening of "getaway car" blasted through the speakers and i couldn't help but laugh at the irony as i looked over at my best friend in the drivers seat only to see him looking at me with the same beaming smile.

The tension of the last few weeks blowing out the window as I spent quality time with my best friend, laughing and doing all of the stuff i would have done before the world flew off it's rocker. My heart felt warm again which i haven't had the pleasure to feel in so long.

I finally felt whole, like this was what my life was meant to be from the start.

~

Once we had reached the bottom of the mountain i took my cd out of the port as the next track ended and turned off the radio.

I turned to glenn, cheeks hurting from smiling too much but I couldn't stop.

"We did it."

"What?"

"Made it out alive again. When I saw those walkers I wasn't so sure but i'm glad we did. You're one of the most important people in my life rhee, I couldn't imagine what i would do without you. I mean, what would I be without you?"

He glanced over at me briefly.

"Yourself."

My smile turned into a softer one as I reached over and grabbed his hand, lacing our fingers together.

I saw a ghost of a smile make its way on his face as he accepted the gesture, gently rubbing his thumb against the back of my hand.

I sighed contentedly, leaning my head against the seat. I rested my eyes, feeling safe with the man in the drivers seat.

Everyone was staring bewildered as we pulled up, probably due to the loud blaring noises coming from the car we were in.

We didn't let their stares deter us from our excitement though.

Instead we jumped out of the car with smiles still clear on our faces.

"Holy crap. Turn that damn thing off!" Shane snapped

"We don't know how!" Glenn exclaimed in defence, adrenaline still pumping through his veins.

"We aren't the best with cars. You know that." I stated. I should've known it was futile to even try, Shane never listens to a damn thing I say.

Shane came to the front of the car whereas Amy went to glenn.

"Pop the hood, please. Pop the damn hood, Please!" Shane had yelled at glenn as he attempted to shut the car up

"My sister, Andrea- " Amy tried to speak to Glenn as well.

"POP THE DAMN HOOD!" shane had yelled again

" what? okay. OKAY! Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. " Glenn had grumbled in frustration as he complied.

I kinda just stood there awkwardly again, looking between everyone.

"Is she okay? Is she alright?" Amy interrogated.

"Yeah. Yeah! She's fine!" glenn practically yelled, growing agitated

I walked over in the hopes to relieve some pressure.
