Breathe Pt.2

1 hour.

The six boys had been sitting on the uncomfortable hospital chairs for over an hour, waiting for any sign that their hyung was okay. Jimin, Taehyung and Hoseok, despite worrying greatly, had managed to fall asleep in their chairs while waiting. The adrenaline from the concert had worn off and it had left all 6 boys tired and drowsy.

The last time they had seen Seokjin was when they watched his unconscious body being loaded into the ambulance. They hadn't seen or heard anything about him since.

The worry for their eldest hyung was eating away at the three boys left awake. Yoongi had earphones in, shutting out the outside world, finding comfort in his music and trying to wash away his toxic thoughts while his hand was busy running through Hoseok's hair, whose head lay in Yoongi's lap. Namjoon on the other hand, was the opposite, he just sat there staring blankly at the wall opposite, drowning himself in his worrying thoughts. Meanwhile, Jungkook had taken to biting his nails and scrolling through twitter to try to ease his nerves while glancing every so often at Jimin and Taehyung who looked very peaceful sleeping against each other.

The air in their private waiting room was thick with tension, they just wanted... no, needed to know if their hyung was okay.

Thankfully, only a few minutes later, a doctor emerged out of the room Seokjin was taken into and walked over to them.

"You're all here for Kim Seokjin, right?" The doctor said in a monotone voice, showing hardly any emotion. As soon as they heard his name, Namjoon and Jungkook bolted out their seats while Yoongi woke up the other 3. As soon as they were all awake and paying attention, the man started to speak.

"We have bad news and good news" The doctor started.

A million thoughts were rushing through Jungkook's head.

There was bad news?! Was his hyung okay?

Would this have ever happened if he would have just spoken up and told the staff about his hyungs condition?

He pushed all the overwhelming thoughts aside in his head to focus on what the doctor was going to say next.

"Good news is that Kim Seokjin is stable for the time being and is awake and waiting for you." The doctor breathed out.

The six boys felt relief washing over them. The tense and panic-filled air dissipated into relief from all 6 boys. Their hyung was okay!

Finding his voice, Namjoon spoke what all six boys were thinking, "That's great but w-what's the bad news?".

"The bad news... ah. Well we ran a few tests and found out that Kim Seokjin has pneumonia which can be harmless when discovered early but it seems he has had it for a few weeks now." The doctor read from his papers, slight sympathy laced his voice. "This means that Mr. Kim will take a while to recover, which I understand may not be ideal as an idol"

"How long will it take?" Jungkook asked, concerned.

"It depends. If everything goes smoothly and he rests, drinks plenty of water etc., recovery may only take a few weeks. On the other hand, if he doesn't rest, or if it gets worse, it may take a few months..." The doctor finished, trailing off at the end.

The boys collectively sighed. How would they cope knowing that their hyung could possibly be in pain for months on end?! They decided to suck it up for their hyung and followed the doctor who was leading them to Seokjin's room.

As they pushed open the door, an awake but extremely tired Seokjin greeted them with a droopy smile.

All six boys smiled back at the sight of their hyung sitting there looking a lot better than the last time they saw him. Although Seokjin still looked horrible, being as pale as the pristine white bed sheets and being hooked up to several machines that made his condition look worse than it was.

Jungkook, who was still feeling immensely guilty about not doing anything to help his hyung, immediately went over to his side and grasped his hand tightly.

"I'm so sorry hyung" He began to ramble, "I noticed you weren't okay yet i didn't do anything, this is all my fault." He said eyes tearing up, receiving six soft looks from the other boys in the room.

"Jungkook..." Seokjin said softly, "Nothing is your fault, if anything, it's my fault.." He whispered, trailing off at the end. Seokjin was staring at his hands, refusing to look at the boys around him. He thought they would scold him or shout at him for being so careless.

"Seokjin, why did you hide it from us. We could have helped you know." Jimin asked, he was worried. Did his hyung not trust them?

Seokjin was silent so Jimin spoke up again.

"Do you not trust us, hyung?" Jimin whispered, fearing his hyungs answer.

Seokjin shot up suddenly "No! It's not that at all! Of course I trust you, all of you." He reassured.

"Then why hyung?"

Seokjin sighed heavily, "We are at the end of our tour! I... I just didn't want to miss it... or ruin it" He said, whispering the last part.

"Hyung..." Jimin started, concern lacing his voice, "Your health is much more important! You know that, but I guess I understand. I wouldn't want to miss a concert either, it's okay hyung. Just promise me you won' t do it again" He ranted, the 5 other boys agreed with him as they waited for Seokjin's reply.

"I'm sorry... I really am. I promise I wont do it again" Seokjin quickly reassured.

His words comforted the other boys as they all leaned in for a comforting group hug. The day was physically and mentally draining for everyone, especially Seokjin who quickly fell asleep. Jungkook looked at his hyung fondly, he looked so peaceful while sleeping, he was glad Seokjin was okay - he just hopes recovery will go well. His attention was drawn to the other members who were setting out blankets on the floor to sleep.

While no one was looking, he gently kissed the top of his hyungs head before going to join the others on the floor.

Feeling safe and happy among each other, they all fell into a deep, peaceful sleep.

I was thinking about making a part 3 about the recovery, would anyone want that?
