Ryder
I slowly stalked towards the border, smelling for patrol. They were everywhere, I could practically hear them around me. Bunch of slobbering fools, they were. My own steps were quited by the soggy leaves below me, it had rained the night before. I made sure to put extra scent concealer on me today, and I am glad I did. There were so many patrol guards, it made me nervous. I was wary of every sound, every movement in the forest. I froze, hearing yet another wolf walk by me. Ducking down, I silently curse myself. There were a few humans patrolling as well, with flashlights. That wasn't good, werewolves already had heightened senses.
If they found me, I would be killed in an instant.
Finally making it past the border, I sighed in relief. But I wasn't out of the woods yet, literally.
I crouched down, making sure no one saw me open the gasoline. I was close enough to the pack house that I could see the lights coming from the windows, but they couldnt see me.
Perfect.
I started pouring the gasoline, making a huge circle around the pack house. Then, I grabbed my fireworks, and placed them on the ground, pointed towards the giant house. I wouldn't even call it a house, it was more of a mansion. At least 5 stories tall, it was made of wood. Idiots.
I was about to light the match that would forever mark the territory, but then I heard a voice.
"Interesting." A deep voice said, coldly. I immediately froze, cursing myself for being so careless.
Turning around, I raised my hands were the man could see them. He was a tall man, with dark skin and beautiful blue eyes. The contrast was stunning, and he radiated an authoritative aura around him. It wasn't as strong as an alpha, so he probably was a beta or something.
"Drop the matches." The man said calmly, looking as if he had power over me. Knowing he couldn't see my face, I grinned.
" You act as if you are in control here. " I saw, my voice slightly muffled by the black has mask I was wearing.
"If I were to light this match right now, and drop it, you couldn't do anything about it. You could kill me, sure, but it wouldn't matter. " I said coolly. In all honesty, he was intimidating, only a fool would not think that. He practically oozed dominance.
"Drop. The. Matches." he says, his voice dropping at least an octave.
" your wish is my command, " I say, quickly lighting the match and dropping it onto the line of gasoline.
I smirked, stepping over the rising wall of flame so it was in between the man and I. He snarled, baring his elongating teeth. I bowed dramatically, and sprinted through the woods. I didn't care anymore if anyone saw me, as long as I got out of the woods, I was safe. I needed to get out of there, no matter what.
Jumping over the line of fire, I Sprint through the woods without breaking a stride. I know someone was chasing me, I was almost certain it was the man that spoke to me.
I felt him behind me, in his wolf form, he was quickly catching up.
I dodged behind trees and bushes, trying to lose him.
But he was too fast, which I quickly realized.
Accepting my doom, I stopped running, panting and wheezing. One problem with the mask, it's hard to breath.
I heard panting behind me and I turned around, facing the snarling wolf. It was startlingly beautiful, dark chestnut due with the same blue eyes. Shifting back to human, the man from before walks over to me.
"Hands were I can see them," he growls, And I smirk. I'm not giving up that easily.
lifting my hands over my head to show I had nothing in my hand, I let him walk closer to me.
Tilting my head up i stood there, panting.
"Your fast. Your one of those patrol dogs?" I say, smirking as I saw him growl at the word.
" I'm leader of them, so you better watch your mouth. " he growls, making himself more intimidating.
"What are you gonna do if I dont, kill me?" I say, sarcasm practically dripping off my words.
he smirks, and pulls my arms behind my back, effectively trapping me.
"Im not going to kill you, but I can't stop my alpha from killing you." shivers run down my body, and I actually felt afraid for once. In the end, I was going to die. I already knew that.
But torture? I didn't want that, I have had enough of torture.
"He isn't cruel enough to torture you. Atleast, I don't think so." He said, not helping my anxiety. Wait a damn minute did he read my mind or something?
Before I can ask, he pushed me in the direction of the pack house.
This wasn't going to end well.
