3 months right before the initial siege there was a massive gathering within the demon lord's castle, inside that gathering were many of the generals in the demon army which were called upon to discuss the final charge towards the oppressive and violent imperial kingdom that has been waging war with them for too long. Among these generals were ones who lost their families and relatives during the course of the kingdoms campaign towards eliminating the demon country.

"ok let's cut to the chase my fellow comrades, this attack or rather this siege will soon signify the fall of the kingdom once we claim their lands but only if we claim them, which is why this meeting is now needed more than ever in order to obtain the utmost performance and power from our troops so that it doesn't fall to the kingdoms own" The demon lord stated as he opened the strategy discussion,

Back then during the time wherein the demon country was pushed back into their own capital too, the imperial kingdom continued pushing the same way the demons are doing it now. The relentless drive and unnecessary deaths of innocent demon kin was done by the imperial kingdom, pillaging and conquering every ounce of land that they come across in while within demon territory.

During these times the kingdom continued launching their campaign against the demons due to the fact that they are "evil" and that they must be extinguished from their "holy lands" apparently but in reality all of that was just a cover up from the real reason.

*slash* *ching!*

"ahh~ it feels good taking out these demon scums in the morning aye?" an imperial soldier happily asked,

"ohh well that's certainly true captain but don't ya' ever feel bad for these guys? Like look at em' they didn't even put up a fight against us" a soldier sorrowfully replied,

"well then, would ya' like to tell that to the emperor?" the soldier asked,

"ohh uhmmm about that hmmm not really I mean if there weren't any punis-" just before he could finish what he was going to say, his captain shushed him.

"hey hey don't speak too loud or else the hero will hear ya" he warned,

"hmmm hmmmm" he mumbled in worry,

"don't ya' know, these people are one of the most powerful and most terrifying people within the empire, and if you don't want to end up on their bad side then you better shut up, got it?" he asked the soldier, the soldier then nodded in agreement and decided to keep his mouth shut about the kingdom's wrong doings.

"b-but then do we just follow aimlessly towards their every command, captain?" he whispered,

"well look here rook, we have no other choice because if we don't then god knows what they'll do to us and knowing the empire they will do whatever they must in order to carry out a punishment and to discipline those who don't follow their comm-" as he was about to finish his sentence, the hero came close to them.

"uhmmm h-hello there but may I ask about the situation here in this village?" Kaiyuu gently asks,

"o-ohh it's mister hero, well uhmmm let's see most of the village has been cleared for now, the supplies are currently plentiful meaning we still have enough to last up until the next two villages, and also the morale has been pretty high too so there's not much worry on our end too much here" he nervously replied,

"ohh hmmm I see well what about the villagers? what has the situation with them been so far?" he concernedly asked,

"ohh well you see we've been ordered to round them up and to capture them, so that well... honestly that was the entire order and if anyone didn't obey, they would be executed..." he stated despairingly,

"ohh.. I see well alright alright thanks for the information then" he then smiled and left,

Even the soldiers didn't really know the reason why they were ordered to round up and capture the villagers since all that was given to them were instructions but none of which were reasons as to why they had to do it, all they know was they had to obey or else they were screwed.
