Chapter 5

Point of view's of Maddie, Zane and Zach....

Maddison
The week flew by and it was Saturday, the day of the bbq. We had a few people coming just for the bbq and a smaller number were staying on for drinks and a swim.
Lara and Dan were the first to arrive without the triplets who were being looked after overnight  by Lara's Mum and Dad at their own home.
" How are you feeling? First overnight without the triplets?". I asked Lara as she put a potato stood on the bench. She sighed dropping her small bag and phone down on the bench aswell.
" Ask me in a couple of hours". She answered.
Matt and Jasmine arrived next with their baby boy. Then another two more workmates of Zane and Matt's from the police station and one of their girlfriends came too which was nice. 
Sharni and Paul had been over since 2pm with Sharni helping Zane marinate the chicken portions.
Riley arrived by himself and had brought along a couple of home made garlic breads. 

Zach
I grabbed the two 6 packs of beer bottles from my fridge and called out to Rochelle I was heading over nextdoor. I heard her say something back but couldn't hear her properly. I left the kitchen and walked up the stairs and stood outside her bedroom door. "You coming or-?".
"Give me two tics. Just doing some eyeliner". She called out from her bedroom so I leaned back on the hallway wall waiting.
Less than 30 seconds later she walked out of her bedroom closing the door behind her. She looked ok in a pair of denim shorts and her bikinis under a off the shoulders stripped top.
I had been thinking about what Maddie had said since the other day about why aren't Rochelle and I together? We had been friends for so long I don't know if I could go from friends to friends with benefits or into a relationship with her without running the risk of fucking up our 10 year friendship. We headed next door and entered number 7 via the back door.
Walking into the kitchen I put all the beers but one it the fridge and took off the lid lifting the bottle to my mouth having a long drink.
Maddie was struggling to pour ice from a large bag into an esky and Zane was on his way out the back door carrying bbq tools.  " "Need a hand with that?" I offered.
"Will you Zach". Maddie asked looking at me relieved."and can you also take it outside?".
"Sure". I nodded and tipped up the remainder of the bag of ice into the esky and proceeded to carry it outside and put it down at the end of the table.
"Do you need me to do anything?". Rochelle asked me.
" Help me carry out some of these salads?" I smiled and she nodded.
Sharni popped her head inside the back door asking if she could do something.
"Maybe take out the plastic cutlery". I nodded motioning to the pile of white plastic knives and forks that sat on the bench near the sink with my head. My arms were full with two loaves of bread and a tub of butter.
"Sure, these Plates too?". Sharni picked up the open containers of
" Yes thanks".

Zane
Zach walked out with the esky full of ice and Matt started putting any beers that sat next to the bbq into it. Zach grabbed the bbq tools off me and lifted up the hood of the bbq to turn the roast and marinated chicken prices. I took an opportunity to crack open a fresh can of beer to drink.
We had invited two new officers fresh out of the police academy who were now assigned to our station. Jiemba pronounced Jim-ba was 20 and of indigenous decent (Australian aboriginal) but we called him Jim which he preferred. Andy was 21-22 and he had bought his girlfriend along. Her name was Tanika and she seemed shy but that's ok. Nothing wrong with being shy. I usually was around new people too unless at work. You had no time to be shy in the Police Force.
" Grab a beer if you want boys". Matt told them and they did.
" Do you want one or a vodka cruiser? Bottled Water? ". I asked looking at Tanika.
Tanika shook her head. " I can't drink". She said and patted her stomach.
My eyes diverted down to her hand and
" So expecting?". I asked.
She nodded.
" Congratulations guys". I patted a smiling Andy on the back.
"Congratulations". Jasmine said " first baby?".
" I have triplets so if you need any advice?". Lara smiled.
"Omg three. You must be busy?".Tanika said almost looking exhausted thinking about it.
Lara nodded and the girls started talking pregnancy and babies.
Maddie walked out with Rochelle then carrying a couple of different bowls of salads, bread and butter.
She looked up at me and I smiled lifting the beer bottle to my lips. Down below in my pants stired because let's face it my woman was fucking hot.
She disappeared back into the house with Rochelle as Riley rounded the corner carrying a container under his arm.
"What's in there?". Zach asked Riley.
"Garlic bread". Riley grinned.

Zach
I had joined Zane, Matt, Maddie, Rochelle, Riley, Lara, Dan, Paul & Sharni in the pool. Zane had put up the pool volleyball net and we were having a go!
We were halfway thru a match when both Maddie and I went for the ball and I don't know how but I miss judged and ended up groping her boob with my right hand.
Shit! Talk about embarrassing. And ok... I got a weird feeling. Ok it wasn't a weird feeling. It's a feeling I didn't want to feel for Maddie. Fuck! Down boy. It wasn't smart to get a hard on for your brothers fiancé even if she was gorgeous.
I quickly stepped back and looked at her. She looked at me her face in shock so I quickly looked away and grabbed the ball pretended like nothing had happened. No one else seemed to notice it thankgod especially Zane.

Maddison
Well that was awkward. Zach had accidentally grabbed my boob going for the volley ball. I'm glad I had chosen my bikini top that had more material then the ones I wore to the beach or in the spa or Zach could of had a bare boob in his hand. Zach quickly dropped my boob and went after the ball that was now sitting a metre away.
I looked over at Zane who hadn't seemed to notice. It was an accidental grope but still, the twins had history when it came to women and the last thing any of us needed was two brothers who had been drinking to get into a squabble. Not that they ever did. Being a police officer meant Zane had standards to uphold. He would never have a physical fight with his brother but a verbal spat, well that was different.

Zane
Maddie looked hot in her bikini crop top and swimmers. I'd hit the jackpot meeting her when I bought this house. She was on the opposing volleyball team with Zach, Riley, Paul and Lara. Riley couldn't play volleyball if his life depended on it. Our cousin was definitely not an athlete. My team consisted of the remaining players, myself, Matt, Sharni, Dan and Rochelle. Rochelle was our weakest link but she was having fun so that is all that mattered. Everyone else still at the bbq we're sitting or standing watching us play.
Suddenly the ball whizzed past my head and landed in the water. I looked up to see Maddie clapping high fives with Paul. She grinned at me and I mouthed  "You''ll keep" to her smiling back. Especially until I got her into bed tonight, payback!

Maddison
" Yes" I screamed as Zach got the winning shot and our team had won.
Zach picked me up in a massive bear hug and then dumped me under the water. I surfaced laughing. He was ribbing his brother who was saying good job guys.
I headed for the edge of the pool and then felt a pair of arms around me pulling me back against their body.
"Well done babe". Zane whispered in my ear and I felt my whole body tingle with his breath on my ear.
I turned around
" So what's this you'll keep bullshit?" I grinned looking straight into his gorgeous blue eyes.
He grinned sexily and his dimples appeared making him look even hotter if that was even possible.
" Get a room you too ". Sharni laughed from behind us and I pulled back from kissing my hot fiancé and laughed too.
" Can I help it if my fiancé is damn fine?". Zane laughed but he had let go of me and I stepped up and out of the pool walking over to grab a towel off the back of a chair.
Rochelle was next to me grabbing a towel too and handed one to Zach.
I smiled at them. I so hoped they got together. She was such a beautiful person and Zach deserved to be happy. They both did.

Zane
I slipped on jeans and a tshirt and headed back downstairs and outside the back. Maddie was already down there having dried herself off from the pool volleyball earlier. She had on tight denim jeans and a short white singlet top and fuck me I'd love to slam her up against the wall and have my way with her right now. If only we didn't have half of our guests still here!
Instead I walked up to where she stood talking to Rochelle & Sharni slipped my arm's around her waist. She leant back into me grabbing my hands and pulling them completely around her.
A few moments later Maddie turned around and kissed me.
" Jeez get a room you two". Zach said from across the Patio. He was standing with Riley and Paul as Dan and Lara and Matt and the boys from work had all left.
Maddie stopped kissing me abruptly and put her head on my shoulder.
I looked over at my brother. "Kissing my fiancé is natural mate. You should try it sometime".
"What kissing your fiancé ?" Zach who was a little drunk said teasingly and I went rigid. Did he just say that? Seriously!

Maddie
" What kissing your fiancé?". Zach laughed.
Oh my god he said it!
Zach could be a prick at times. He loved to shit stir when he was drunk.
I felt Zane's body stiffened so I quickly grabbed his face making him stop glaring at his intoxicated twin who was just stiring him up and to look down at me instead.
"Babe". I whispered. " ignore him. You know he has had too much to drink".
His blue eyes looked into mine and his mouth was straight, annoyed, his dimples were definitely not out at the moment.
Rochelle said something to Zach but we couldn't hear what it was.
"Geez I'm only kidding. They know that?". He was replying to her.
Rochelle said something else and Zach shut up. Wow she had an effect on him. I liked it.
Not much later they left, everyone did and Zane and I went upstairs to bed.
