This was a bad idea. A really really bad idea. But then again, I couldn't otherwise.
My arms tightened around my body, sneakers scraped against the cracked asphalt, the familiar glow of twinkling lights approaching. A permanent frown was etched onto my face as I weaved in and out the crowd, still lively despite the late hours of the cool night.
Your boyfriend's shit drunk, come get him.
The text had read. It seemed like a joke, considering I had no boyfriend and that it came from an unknown number. At frickin 2:00 am.
I suspected either Mingi or Wooyoung.
Until, my phone pinged again, this time from a number I recognised all too well.
Star 1117, town centre. I'm leaving him here if you don't come in 20.
No questions after that as I sneaked out the kitchen back door, taking the spare key with me. I really needed to set up a different system of sneaking out the house, preferably through my window.
My neck craned all around to find the said place, the GPS on my phone indicating I was close. My eyes scanned the crowd to find the familiar face as I spotted the neon blue sign in the distance.
Star 1117.
Seemed rustic with the white brick exterior, a hint of modern with the vine covered walls just atop of the neon sign.
My eyes widened, frown morphing into a look of shock then annoyance as the figure next to my 'boyfriend' locked eyes with mine, shooting me a coy smile.
"You actually came. And here I thought he—"
"You?!"
"Yeah me, Princess, " San rolled his eyes, brushing his hair back, "Now that we've established the pleasantries, let's—"
"Why are you here?"
"Who do you think sent you the text?" San arched a brow as I scoffed, bringing out my phone. "This was you?"
San gave me a blank look as I elaborated, "He's your brother! You could've easily taken him to his house. Why'd you call me?"
"I can't lift him alone, he's heavy." He crossed his arms as if it was obvious.
But I knew otherwise. The green glint in his eyes didn't lie.
I copied him, "You expect me to actually believe that, San? How stupid do you think I am?"
"You're not stupid, just a little dense." He mused as my frown deepened, taking a look at his brother who eyed the crowd and lights with childlike wonder.
I sidestepped San crouching next Seonghwa, who was completely unaware of my presence until I gently shook him. He glanced up through the mop of dark hair, almost veiling his blank eyes.
"You're pretty." He blurted out all of a sudden, poking my cheek.
I retracted, cheeks warm as I glared at San who sent me an amused look, "What the fuck did you do to him?! Is this another one of your hexes?"
San heaved a sigh, looking he would be anywhere but here. "Look, the bartender called me when he had had too much and then I texted you because he wouldn't shut up about you."
"Wasn't it because he was 'heavy'?" I questioned, ignoring the last part of his sentence.
"That too."
