This is true for a lot of people, I know from experience this is exactly what goes through their minds every time you crack a joke about them. You may be joking but it doesn't matter when it comes down to things....
The words you speak stays in their mind all day, and it gives the brain time to believe them.... Moral of this: Watch what you speak because your words really can become knives to that person.
