The man in front of her never stopped moving. He hummed and jittered in his seat, concentrating on tapping his long, thin fingernails and bouncing his leg under the table. Occasionally, he would glance at Vanya before averting his eyes, a somewhat mournful expression on his face.

"So..." Vanya didn't know where to begin, "what's your name?" She internally smacked herself, realizing that he'd already introduced himself as Klaus. It didn't really matter though. That still seemed like a decent place to start.

He told her his name once more, albeit with a bit more bravado, before pausing to ask "What was this morning like for you?"

"Hard. I didn't know how I got here."

He chuckled, "The date must've been hard to take in, huh?"

"What do you mean?" She glanced around for clues indicating the time, "What year would be considered normal?"

"Well, normal would be about 30ish years from now. It's 1965."

She gazed up at him in annoyance, "Trying to make fun of the amnesiac? Really?"

He scoffed, "I'm serious, Five took us back here!"

"What's Five?"

"My ears are burning." A dark haired child walked into the room, face marked with annoyance, "Anyone know why Diego's about to shit himself?"

Klaus stood up and approached the boy, leaning down to reach his face before whispering in his ear. Whatever he said must have been upsetting, as the child turned to smack him in the face, "Don't start with me until I've had my coffee."

"I'm serious!" Klaus whined, stroking the spot he was hit, "Vanya has amnesia!"

Vanya also felt quite uncomfortable, choosing to once again stare at her drink. The boy calmly approached her, scrutinizing every detail from her face down.

"How are you by the way?" He tried to seem nonchalant but his voice quivered a bit as he talked, "It's been a few days."

Vanya wasn't sure how to respond, "A few days since what?"

He did a double take, "Do you not remember the concert? What about-" He stopped himself, glancing up at Klaus who nodded somberly.

"Vanya what's my name?" He rushed out the sentence impatiently.

Vanya held eye contact, raising her hands in defeat. "I don't know, I'm sorry."

The boy began to slightly shake, "That's not funny."

"It's not a joke."

"Stop it. Shit." He swore a few times more before turning towards the buffet. Vanya watched as he roughly handled the coffee machine, spilling the beverage as he rushed it into a mug. Once he was done, he sat down next to Vanya and sipped, lips quivering between swallows.

"What happened?" He demanded an answer from Klaus, who dejectedly joined their table.

"Ben and I were hoping you'd have an answer."

Vanya was tired of being out of the know, "Klaus, can you please tell me why you're talking to the space next to you? Who's Ben?"

Both of them froze and stared at each other. The younger one began tearing up, wiping his eyes quickly on his shirt sleeve. The other gazed sadly to the right, "An old friend."

"Did I know him?"

Klaus blinked a few times, "Yeah, see-"

"Not now," the boy stopped him mid-sentence, "we're already dealing with one tragedy right now."

"So she shouldn't know?"

"She WILL know when we FIX her!" The boy kicked the leg of his chair. On his right, Diego arrived to the scene again and patted his shoulder. Following him were two new people Vanya didn't recognize: a taller woman with a strange scar across her neck and quite possibly the largest man she had ever seen, donning a strange trench coat and gloves.

"We heard what happened," the giant mumbled. The woman next to him had tears in her eyes, which refused to break contact with Vanya's. All of them remained silent for a moment, a strange pause of awkwardness reflected in the faces of the other two hotel patrons who had been watching the entire time.

After a good three minutes of this, Vanya lost her patience. "Okay, I get it, my memories are gone. I'm tired of being left out of the loop. Let's start with your names, please?"

Diego snapped to attention and nodded, "Right, right, well you already know I'm Diego-"

"And I'm Klaus, your favorite brother!" By the third time, she felt a tad annoyed with his over the top nature.

"Yes and these are-"

The child interrupted Diego once again, "I'm Five, your real favorite brother." He rolled his eyes at Klaus before sipping his coffee.

"Your name is Five? Like the number?"

"Long story."

The tall man cleared his throat, "Luther." He then gestured towards the woman, who struggled to write on a notepad, hands shaking from her hysteria. When she lifted it up it read:

ALLISON

Vanya nodded politely, "Nice to meet you all. He said that we're all family?" She gestured towards Klaus.

"Siblings."

"So why can't I remember any of you?"

"Five?" Luther muttered, "What's going on?"

Five looked at him with rage, "You think that I wouldn't tell you assholes if I did something to Vanya? If anything, she'd be the last one I choose to do this to!" He started towards Luther, but Diego held him back with his body.

"Not here man."

"Fine!" He snarled. "Vanya, let's get some training done!"

"Training?" She was confused. What could this little (albeit aggressive) boy teach her? And why were her hands shaking from the mere word "training"? "I don't under-"

Someone grabbed her shoulder from behind, causing her to yelp. Near the entryway, four windows shattered into pieces on the rug. Looking behind herself, she watched as the taller woman, Allison, stepped back guiltily.

The group stared at the shards a moment before turning back to her.

"Maybe-" Luther began before being cutoff by Five.

"Shut up. Vanya you're coming with me, and together, we're going to save the world." He leaned in a little closer so that only she could hear. "And we're going to get your memory back too, okay? Just gotta get the equations right."

She nodded back before turning to the others. She noticed the skinny man, Klaus, talking to the air once more. Pointing in his direction, she asked Five, "Can we bring him?"

He looked carefully at her, "Why?"

"I want to meet this Ben fellow."

Five nodded and motioned to Klaus to come over. Diego approached as well. Allison tried to follow suite, but paused, scribbling out a note:

I'M OUT OF COMMISSION. WILL STAY BEHIND.

"Well I'm not being left behind with the lovebirds," Diego muttered, clearly annoyed, "I just ate breakfast."

"Aw goody, it's family training day!" Klaus clapped and cheered, "After this you'll wish you had amnesia away from us Vans!"

Five punched him arm as the group formed a circle. "Should've gotten my cup to go" he groaned. And with that he teleported then to train.
