Ben was terrified of dropping Vanya. Moving out of the shop, his electric blue form occasionally flickered as Klaus grew tired, momentarily causing Vanya to drop before he could stop her fall. He could feel her trembling as they moved, a symptom he knew neither of the others would want to hear. Once they had all exited, he checked Vanya, now unconscious, before pointing out the obvious.
"You're going to have to help her recover, Klaus. You're the only one who knows how." He expected a joke or sarcastic retort, but Klaus only nodded solemnly. Five felt a bit ignored.
"I know everything, Ben."
His ghost of a brother smiled. "Of course you do." He allowed the smaller brother to latch on to his shoulder as they traveled instantly to the motel. Upon impact, he gently lowered Vanya to the floor before nodding to Klaus, whose hands dimmed along with Ben.
Five alerted Klaus that he would be teleporting to inform the others of what had happened. He nodded before sinking to meet Vanya's level, consistently tilting her head back and checking her vitals, a few tricks he'd picked up from his own recovery. Sometimes she would mutter in her state of deliciousness, which Klaus found to be a mixture of terror and comedy gold.
"Diego hates me... the water heater broke again... Mr. Puddles ate my leftovers... paper towels can be used as a garnish."
He chuckled a bit, Ben imitating him as he observed his siblings. "I'm never eating at your place, dear sister. And for the record, no, I don't think brother dearest hates you at all."
Her response was less eloquent. "Choked."
"Excuse me?"
"He was choking me..."
Before he had the time to contemplate that thought, Five arrived with the others, Allison and Diego running (well, trying to run in Diego's case) over to Vanya. Diego was frantic, hands shaking as he repeated the steps Klaus had just taken, only adding some random murmuring and yelling for good measure. Allison went for a more soothing approach, gently massaging Vanya's temples and whispering reassurances. If she were conscious, Klaus believed she would have been very touched by their gestures of kindness. He looked upward, noticing Luther's reluctance to participate in any way. Brows furrowed, he stood up and proceeded to stand next to their "fearless leader".
"She has her memories back."
Luther grunted. "Okay."
"Yeah, you know she mentioned something that had me thinking. She said someone had choked her. Now, I remember how you were choking me earlier and I was wondering as her ever loving brother-"
Luther shook his head, eyes wide. Though he was adamant, he wore an obvious mask of guilt.
"You bastard!" Klaus over dramatically pointed to the ape man before attempting to jump kick him. He failed miserably, of course, but succeeded in drawing the attention of a bitter Five.
"What do you mean he was choking Vanya?" The smallest Hargreeves (besides Vanya) drew a knife from his neighboring brother's tool belt before teleporting over. In an instant, Luther found himself cornered by his brothers, Allison opting to remain by Vanya's side. Though the tallest, he shrunk himself down under the combined weight of their glares. Passerbys came to a stop in the hallway, some hedging bets on whether the large man could take on all of the others.
Diego charged first, forgetting the pain of his leg and taking on Luther's front as he was no longer able to use speed against him. Luther swatted at his invading brother, who drew knives out and stabbed him in every available weak point. Five kept the violence going, using the distraction of Diego to teleport behind Luther, forcefully kicking him onto the ground. Klaus was the least helpful, continually yelling "Get him!" before kicking random spots to no avail. After a few minutes Allison sighed, hating to have to part from Vanya. After Ben, she took on the role of the peacemaker. Even her nearing presence took the passion out of the beating, as the others parted for her as she strode towards where Luther lay. Even the watching residents of the motel became nervous, scurrying back to their paused itineraries. After arriving, she leaned down and began to write.
No more.
"Allison, look-"
She shook her head.
You hurt two of my siblings. You're supposed to protect us. We need a new system.
Despite his heartbroken gaze, she stood tall.
We are voting for a NEW leader. Sunrise tomorrow.
Stunned silence flooded the room for a solid ten minutes. Luther swallowed hard. "Okay."
And with that, they went to their rooms for the night. Allison carrying Vanya to hers in order to keep a closer watch on her condition. She knew that Luther's reign was most likely up, despite their close relationship she realized his priorities were not fit to lead. Diego was nearly as bad with his over aggressive nature, Klaus had no impulse control, Vanya had no ability control, Five could be quite erratic, and Ben had the unfortunate condition of being dead. She supposed that meant it was her duty to lead. It made sense to her, at least. Sitting on her bed and listening to Vanya's soft breathing, she took it upon herself to write the speech she could. She was more of an orator, given her advantage in that area but she was pleased with her speech. They needed to be a team again, and she felt prepared to promote that.
