"Mom....? May we talk?" Adrien entered the hospital room doors and greeted his mother. "Of course, darling. What about?" "It's about Marinette"

He went to go sit beside his mother.
"Oh no, did something happen?" she asked worryingly. "No- I mean, kinda. I-I lied to her and she found out." He admitted, disappointed. "What did you lie to her about?" Emilie propped herself up, and was now in full interest to see what he had to say. She was always there for him. She was there to listen and help, which is why shes the first person he turned to.

"I'm not sure I feel comfortable explaining" which was the truth. He didn't want to admit how bad he'd been doing without her. His life was a mess, and he didn't know how to fix it. "Shortly, I didn't open up. And now she's mad, and I don't know what to do" he cried. "Adrien" she reached her arm out and placed her hand on his arm. "It's okay. I know you, Adrien. You always know how to make things right."

He wiped his eyes and nodded sweetly. "But Adrien, you realize I'm really close with Marinette too, right?" she chuckled. "She was just here the other day sometime while you weren't here. Even if you don't want to tell me what happened, I know." "How'd she even find out what happened to you?" "Adrien, we've been friends with the Dupain-Chengs for a long time. Of course we had to tell them about what happened to me."

Adrien nodded and lounged back into the chair he was seated in. "I know you can make it better Adrien," Emilie said in sympathy. "I know you better than anyone else," he looked at her smile. Adrien loved his mother's smile, except he didn't want to look at it.
It was too hard. Even just seeing her was hard.

"Mom, what day is it?"
"April 28th"

Mothers day was to be coming up in a few weeks. "Why do you ask?" "No reason, I just forgot."

"Adrien, can I tell you something?" Emilie set her bright green eyes on him. "Yeah, anything" Adrien let out an almost smile and waited for the words to come. "If anything happens to me," oh no. This is not what he wanted to hear. He didn't want anything to happen to her, that was to think. So lately he'd try convincing himself she'd be out of the hospital in no time.

"I'm sorry-" he cut her off. She looked shocked at first, but realized his reasoning behind this behavior and nodded. "Stay strong for me, okay? Nothing's going to happen to me. I'll be fine! And once I'm out of the hospital, I say we treat ourselves for some ice cream." She chuckled. Her chuckle was like nothing he'd ever heard before, and her smile was like a million suns. If he had the option, he'd never leave.

[Adriens POV]
I felt happier than usual when I entered the school building that next day. I had been reassured by my mom that she'd be fine, so my worrys slowly started to drift away.
"I'm sorry"
I heard a shakey voice say in front of me. I wasn't paying attention, so when I looked down, he was surprised to see Marinette. She was crying.

"I shouldn't have turned against you just because you didn't want to open up. I know it's really hard for you right now, and you don't want to make me worried or anything... so I'm sorry for what I did!" Her face hung low and her hands were in fists. This time, she was the one who refused to look me in the eye. "There. I said it." She complained annoyed, yet she was very obviously still crying. That's when she attached onto my body and sobbed into my shirt. I simply pulled her in for a hug and ruffled her hair.

"You're so dorky, you know that?"
"I hate you" she cried, but I only chuckled. "I know you love me" I smiled. Though the only thing I earned from that was a step on the foot. "In your dreams" her muffled voice laughed at me. By now, she was using my shirt as her own personal towel and using it to wipe her tears.

"Thanks, now I'll have dried tear stains on my shirt for the rest of the day" "good, you deserve it pretty boy." I laughed at her remark. But then proceeded to lower myself more so I could get a view of her face. It obviously still looked as if she'd been crying. "You might wanna wait a second before going to class" I smiled at her, until she finally looked back at me. She smiled back and nodded.

"Class starts soon though, I have no time to waste." She said. "I'll be on my way. You coming?" I nodded and followed behind her, and together we walked to class.

When the day had finally finished, I was surprised when Marinette asked if she could hang over a little bit. She hadn't come over in a while, but I didn't mind so I gave her a sweet "yes".

"So usually before I go home, I stop over by the hospital to see my mom." I informed Marinette as soon as she closed the car door behind her. Her parents didn't mind, and neither did mine. We rode home together all the time before. Nowadays, not so much. "Oh. So does that mean we're stopping there for a bit?" "Mhm".

"Adrien, can I ask you a question?" Asked Marinette, not bothering to look from the window. "You just did" I smiled, and she simply reached her hand out to shove me in the arm. "Shut up idiot" she joked. "Okay okay! Sorry!" I laughed, but when I looked over at her she was barely smiling. Her head was still facing the window.

"Have you ever...
Liked anyone?"
