It was the day of the dance. I was going with the CUTEST boy ever. Archie Andrews. A dream come true. I put on my dress and Veronica, Archie, Kevin, and Jughead all were in the limo waiting. I did my hair and put on light makeup. I head outside and see the limo. I get in and sit next to Archie.
"Sorry, did I take too long?" I ask, sighing,
"No, you didn't, its fine." Archie says, staring at his phone, like usual.
"You look nice, Betty." Kevin says.
"Aww, thanks." I say.
"Actually, you look gorgeous. Right, Jug?" Veronica looks at Jughead and gives him a look.
"Yeah, you look beautiful, Betty." Jughead grins, shyly.
"Thank you, Juggie." I blush.
We pull up to the school and Archie gets out first. I walk into the gym, trying to follow Archie and are greeted by the parent chaperones, Veronica's mom being one of them.
"Hello, Mrs. Lodge." I say, nodding my head.
"Hey, Betty. You look gorgeous. Here with anyone?" Hermione says, looking around me.
"Uh, yeah. Archie Andrews." I blush.
"Have fun, then!" Hermione smiles.
I run to Veronica and Kevin dancing by themselves.
"Where's Archie?" I ask.
"Talking to Jughead, but Betty?" Kevin says, grabbing my arm.
"What?"
"You should finally say something. That carrot top is too dumb to make a move. No offense." Veronica says.
"None taken, Veronica." I laugh.
I walk over to Jughead and Archie and Jughead walks away, waving at me.
"Hi, Juggie! Hi, Arch." I say.
"Hey, Betty, wanna dance?" Archie says.
"Of course, thank you." Archie grabs my hands and we slow dance.
"So, Arch. Can I say something?" I take a deep breath. It's time.
"Huh? Yeah, what's up." Archie says.
"Now that I have your attention and your not staring at your phone," I start. It's now or never. "I have this dream, or fantasy.. of us maybe.... being a power couple?"
"Betty," Archie sighs.
"Is that so wrong to imagine? Does that have to stay a fantasy?" I look at him and he stops dancing.
"Betty, I can't give you the answer you want. Not now. I-I'm sorry. I like someone..." Archie notices me tearing up.
I shake my head and we let go of each other. I walk out of the gym, holding back my tears. I see Veronica and Jughead in the hallway.
