This chapter is between episodes #24 and #25 of Season 3
Black was a fairly calm boy. Too quiet for one's taste. You couldn't have a conversation with him, due to the direct responses he always gave you. His face did not help much either because, despite having an enviable beauty, it was unable to express any emotion. Those who had a chance to talk to him always said the same thing: "It seems like he doesn't have feelings. It's like talking to a robot." All these factors condemned the young man to a life of loneliness, but he did not care about it. He could live entirely alone for decades, and still, he would not complain.
Although it is not completely isolated from the world. Several people came to him, as he was known as one of the best jewellers. A surprising fact for many, since he looked too young to already be working in such a well-structured business. This job gave him enough money to live on his own and give himself an occasional gift.
The second activity by which he was most identified was the innumerable trips he made. You could see him in Madrid, the next day in Montevideo, the next morning traveling to Tokyo so that a week later he would return to the United States. This made Black become a man of culture, knowing more about each country than the inhabitants themselves. It seemed that his memory had no limits. He had knowledge in various fields, such as medicine, gastronomy, literature, and, mainly, gemmology. He only worked as a jeweller because he was most passionate about it.
Despite all the places he visited, where he could be found the most was Beach City, due to being the place where he lived. Despite this, very few people knew of his existence or that even another person was there. This caused his presence to go unnoticed by most citizens. A big plus for the boy who wasn't the best at socializing.
He was at home watching what TV could offer him. He wore black clothes, which matched his tousled dark hair. His skin, which was so pale it appeared to be completely white, also aided his monochrome appearance. His day could not be more peaceful. The few people who knew him always came to give him work. But that day no one showed up at the young man's home.
It would have been a very relaxing afternoon for the black-haired, if not for a slightly disturbing detail. While paying attention to the screen in front of him, he managed to feel a voice that did not belong to the movie he was watching. He had seen the same film countless times, allowing him to know perfectly that what he heard did not belong to the dialogues already filmed.
Turning off the television, the boy started to pay more attention and find out if that voice would repeat itself. Immediately after he pressed the off button on the remote control, a cry boomed in his ears. The previously heard voice was almost inaudibly crying. Black wasted no time and began searching where the sobs were coming from.
Upon leaving his home, the voice could barely be heard better. The young man began to run, changing direction each time the crying increased its volume. The race took him to the mountain that was at the end of the beach. Black remembered that the last time he was in the city that place was restricted. However, seeing that the cries came from the other side of the mountain, he did not think twice and went to the place.
On the other side of the mountain was a statue of a giant woman with what appeared to be gems embedded in various parts of her body. It was at that moment that the boy recalled what happened to him a few days earlier. He remembered his encounter with a "Gem" and how he helped her get to the ocean. What surprised him the most was not seeing such a structure. What was surprising being the fact that one of them was so close to him. During his travels, the young man was able to find several monuments that alluded to the specie of his old friend.
The voice, which seemed to be inside a house under the statue, became so clear and loud to the point of being unbearable. However, Black was not bothered by the noise and headed inside. When he didn't receive any answer at the door, he decided to enter and see who was the voice. Great was the boy's surprise to see that the place, in addition to being seen as an ordinary house, had strange structures such as a white platform and a door with gems.
As he stood on the platform, the gems on the door began to glow. All of them, in a random order, and making the door finally open. The room on the other side was a very strange one. The ground had several paths that led lava to a large fountain and, if you looked up, you could see thousands of pink bubbles that had gems inside.
It was enough to set foot in the room for Black to hear millions and millions of voices screaming for help. They were all ignored by the young man who focused on one of the few that was silent. He recognized the gem instantly. It was a jasper, the gem of the woman he met. But this time it looked different. So many years working with jewellery allowed the boy to recognize that the crystal in front of him was in a very bad condition. Taking the strange bubble in his hands, the boy headed home.
Several questions were in Black's head: Why was there a temple in Beach City? What were so many gems doing locked up in that room? How did Jasper end up in that situation? Knowing that the only one who could answer him was in a bad state, the young man concentrated on reaching his house and starting to work on it to try to repair her.
Arriving home, the boy went to his desk and tried to burst the bubble. It didn't take much effort to free the gem and get a closer look at it. At first glance, it could easily be said that it was a perfect piece of jewellery, but he noticed that the glass was contaminated. Noticing what the problem was, he picked up his tools and prepared for the job.
An hour passed and the gem was still with that corruption, so he X̴̢̙͓̽̀X̸͕̝̙͐͐X̴̡̦͍́͆͊X̸͚̼͑̒͝Ẍ̴̢̫́͑X̵̫̦̝̾̓͘Ẍ̵͚̞́̕X̵̙̟͎̔͐̈́X̴̫͚̼̓͆͒X̵͓͇͎̓̀͛X̸̞͎̓͊͘͜X̸̙̝͉̒͝͝X̸̙̺͙̾͐̀X̸̢̻̽͝X̵̢̘̼͒͋͠X̵̘͙̺̓͌̕X̵̟͔͇͌͠͝Ẍ̴̡͉̼́͠X̸̻̓̔͘:
The gemstone was finally fine and the boy did not believe the fact that it took all his energy to "revive" its beauty. With the job done, Black remembered how the woman came out of the gem, so he settled down to wait for that to happen. He also began to reflect on him being able to listen to the gems as it happened to him finding Jasper for the first time. Why couldn't he hear the others earlier if it wasn't his first time in town?
A few hours after working on the gemstone, the boy decided to resume his film. Unfortunately, he could only see a few minutes before an orange glow coming from the already repaired gem interrupted him. After a few seconds, the great woman was present again in the young man's home. She looked confused and terrified. An expression that, deducing, was due to an event before her confinement in the bubble or even the imprisonment itself.
Jasper: "Where am I?" said the scared woman.
Black: "Good to see you again, Jasper." said quietly.
Recognizing the person in front of him, Jasper was quite surprised.
Jasper: "Human?" said curiously. "How are you here? It's supposed that I..."
Jasper couldn't finish as a memory flashed through her head. The one about how he confronted the rebel leader's son and was corrupted by her defeat. Anger took her away. She just wanted to face his enemy and face him once more and thus avenge his Diamond.
Jasper: "Steven..." he said and then got up "Damn you... I AM GOING TO FIND YOU AND STRIKE YOU DOWN!" yelled preparing to leave.
Noticing this, Black decided to stop the woman. Although he repaired her, she was still too weak to go out and do anything.
Black: "Jasper, wait. You are very weak. It was very difficult to remove the corruption. You must rest and recover energy" said the young man taking the huge arms of the lady.
Jasper was surprised that a human knew so much. That same boy helped her twice, and at each encounter, the boy proved to have quite a knowledge of the gem world. This caused a question to arise in the soldier's head.
Jasper: "Human?" Black did not reply. "No... You are not human, aren't you?" A long silence was present.
Black: "It is true. I'm not a human. I'm a Gem" he said to later show the back of her head to Jasper. A black gem was hidden among the dark hair of the not so young man.
