Caroline's POV

Standing in-front of the many elders and royal family, caused my nerves to be on edge. The only thing calming me was the warm hand on the small of my back. I wish his touch didn't comfort me, I wanted to be unaffected by him.

"Ms. Caroline, your activities last night have caused you to be in this position." The head elder announced.

"We understand your new relationship to Prince Head Warrior Alexander, but we can not let that lighten your punishment."

"Elder, she is just a girl." Queen Aria says, obviously not intimidated by the elders.

"But she must take responsibility for her doing." One of the other elders says to her. Was I about to be executed? What was going to happen to me now?

"We will be giving you a punishment based on the factor of you didn't get away. It was only an attempted robbery."

"Your final punishment shall be 150 hours of warrior training, suspended travel indefinitely, and you will be on parole for 5 months."

"I understand, elder." I respond, not entirely understand everything he just said.

"Your parole officer will be Alexander." It took everything in me not to groan. Of course it was him, he probably requested for it.

"Do the King and Queen approve?" It looked like Queen Aria had to hold her tongue to this question.

"Yes, we do." King Damon responds.

"Then we are dismissed." With that all the elders exit the room and I'm left with Alex and his parents.

"Did you ask to be my parole officer?" I whisper-shout at Alex.

"No, and if I did, elders make their choice based on their connection with the Moon Goddess. It does not waiver because of someone's preference." He says, as his parents listen.

"I wish I could dismiss your punishments, Caroline." Queen Aria says to me.

"Thank you, what does warrior training and suspended travel mean?" I ask Alex.

"You aren't allowed out of the village and they'd prefer you stay on castle grounds until they decide you are ready to leave." He tells me as we begin to exit the large room.

"I've never left the village anyways." I mumble.

"And warrior training means that you will train with all the other warriors for a minimum of 150 hours over any span of time." He says as his parents walk in front of us.
