Alexander's POV

The buzzing of my alarm on my phone was the sound that greeted me this morning. It was the morning after my 19th birthday, I was beyond tired after all the stunts Brandon pulled last night. Being the future Queen's mate and the Royal Beta's son gives him too much access that he shouldn't have. Yes, he was my best friend, but he also loved to party. I've never been a huge fan of partying, don't get me wrong, I love a good party but a Brandon party was too much. That was one thing that my sister and her mate had in common, they both loved the party scene. The amount of times growing up that I would cover for them while they spent the night partying, especially after they found out they were mates. The secrets hidden behind a castle truly were something to read about.

I always wondered when I would find my mate, would it be soon or would I have to wait years to find her? When I turned 16, I was hoping I would instantly find her, that's what happened to most wolves. 3 years later, I still lay in my king sized bed, in my small suite in the castle, alone. Sometimes when I would be traveling past the village, I would get a very small sniff of something that I think might be her scent. But it never drove my wolf wild, so I never pursued it. I always thought the Moon Goddess would make it very clear to me.

"I guess it's time to get up." I mumble to myself, turning off my alarm and pulling the blankets off of me. I sit up and slowly getting out of bed, I start to walk out of my bedroom. I grab a sweatshirt from the back of door and pull it on as I head towards the kitchen. When Rosalina and I turned 18, our parents both gave us our own suites in the castle. Mine was smaller and closer to the Royal suite compared to my sisters. Of course, she moved out with Brandon so she had a bigger suite that was on the other side of the castle.

"Good morning, Chef Edward." I say, pressing the intercom that connected to the dining hall and kitchen downstairs in the castle.

"Good Morning, Prince Alexander." I hear the deep voice of our head chef.

"What's for breakfast today, sir?" I ask, hoping it was something I enjoyed.

"Your favorite, pancakes and hash-browns."

Yes!

"Thank you, sir, I will be down shortly." I say before ending the call. I always tried to eat my meals in the dining hall since our kitchen staff works so hard for every meal, but only the warriors and staff eat the meals. My mom would tell me stories of how she would always eat down there growing up and raised all her children to understand the importance of sharing a meal with the staff, she never saw it as a bad thing.

I quickly get dressed in my training clothes, I've been appointed Head Warrior since our former head has stepped down and my father found me suit enough for the spot. I had gotten close with a lot of the warriors and enjoyed the training. I was very happy with the spot of Head Warrior since I wasn't in line for the throne and wasn't likely to take the role of Royal Beta, Brandon's younger sister was next in line even though she was only 12. I don't have a want to be King or even Royal Beta, that came with too much responsibility and stress for me. Head Warrior was what I loved to do, so I found it fit perfectly.
