Celia was a delusional woman. In her head, everything was perfect in her life. Her husband loved her, and Emma was getting taken care of - permanetaly. But deep down she knew she wasn't going to be able to save their marriage. It was plunging into oblivion each second Celia tried to make herself believe that her huband was a loving, caring, honest man who just wanted a substitute for children.
The only reason they were foster parents is because Celia refused to have children. Robert tried for years to make her say yes. But he soon gave up when they both hit those terrible 30's because most women can't bare children in that age range.
All Robert ever wanted was a boy of his own to play ball with. Starting a foster home was his idea in the first place. He simply couldn't wait to have children running around and having fun. But that changed after the 10th child had walked out those doors to go to that Boarding School. Robert decided he didn't want kids anymore.
One day they got a little girl who just refused to listen to them. She was defiant and stubborn and hated the both of them, no matter how nice they were to her.
"That is it, young lady! You are going into the timeout room until you realize that you listen to us!" Celia had screamed at the poor girl. She grabbed the girls arm and tugged her up the stairs to the second story and opened a door that led down a hallway. They stopped in front a door with three locks on it. Celia opened the door and shoved the little girl in. The girl almost tripped and fell for how hard Celia had pushed her. The girl turned and stared at Celia with fearful eyes.
"I'll be back later. By then you better make sure you've learned." And with that Celia slammed the door shut.
The little girl didn't know how much time had passed but she was scared and utterly bored at the same time. Robert stalked up the stairs and outside the door. He had a sick idea in his head. Celia never pleasured him anymore and there just so happened to be a young woman in the house. Robert never wanted any girls - just the boys. He opened the door to see the little girl sitting in the corner shivering.
"Can I come out now?" She asked staring at him hopefully.
"That depends. Have you learned your lesson?" He looked her up and down. She was wearing a dress, and he could see her underwear peering out because she had her knees up to her chest.
The little girl nodded.
"I don't think you have."

Penelope shuddered at the memory of Robert. Once they let her go at the age of 16 to go to this stupid boarding school, she felt happy. Like she could finally escape them. But here she was now planning the murder of a murderer. Penelope couldn't seem to find the opportune moment to kill the girl. She was never alone, which seemed odd to Penelope because Emma seemed like the girl who would prefer to be alone. But that wasn't the main problem. The main problem was to get her alone and keep Celia stalled until she could that.
Celia hadn't called Penelope for two weeks for an update. Either because she knew Penelope would get the job done. Or she thought Penelope had already gotten the job done. As far as Penelope was concerned, she would hold off killing the girl until she absolutely had no choice.
Meanwhile, Austin knew exactly what Penelope had planned. The woman didn't exactly hide the fact she was trailing Emma throughout her school day. Austin didn't much care for Emma in the sense that he loved her. Or even liked her. He was using her. There was a monster inside him that tried to claw its way out of him everytime he thought about killing. The urge to get up and hurt somebody was almost too much.
There was one day Emma had told him about the monster. He felt slightly awed at her because she had the nerve to embrace it and kill 3 people. Austin wanted that courage but he was not in any way as stealthy as Emma was at it. The FBI had gotten no trace of finger prints or leads in the case, and all the students could tell that they were going to give up soon.
Which was what Nick Loore was about to do. His men searched every nook and cranny in each of the rooms and found nothing. Whoever the killer was, they were good. Too good.
Nick mostly didn't understand what went on inside the heads of murderers and psychpaths. What happened to them to make them that way? Were they born with it? Is their brain a fluke of nature? These were only a few questions that went on inside Nick's head as he pondered these questions.
He knew he wasn't going to get a lead in this case. So he called to have a meeting with the Head Mistress. He walked to her office and knocked on the door.
"Yes, come in." He opened the door and gave a small smile and sat down in the chair directly in front of the Head Mistress's desk. "What did you want to talk to me about?"
"I've come to you because I'm going to call off the case for good. I'm labeling it a cold case. We've gone through the crime scenes a thousand times and we haven't found any source of DNA or fingerprints. We haven't found any evidence in any of the chrildrens' rooms either. I'm sorry, but there is no way we can keep up the case." Nick reasoned.
"I'm very sorry to hear that. My schools' reputation has gone down a considerable percent and I guess finding the killer would not bring up that fact." The Head Mistress was deeply stressed by the fact her school would now drop in the ranks by a lot.
"My team and I will clean up the crime scenes, and we'll be on our way. Again, I am so very sorry," Nick apoligized. Then he left to go clean up.
Emma thought she was in love. In fact, it was not even a thought. It was a fact. There was no doubt in Emma's and Jade's minds that it was pure, innocent love. Or as innocent as it can get for Emma. Austin said the sweetest things and he was always so thoughtful and understanding and completely in love with her, too. Or so it seemed.
After her classes in late October, Emma went to her dorm to wait for Austin so they could study together. When Emma opened the door, she found Jade standing in the middle of the room with a shocked expression, holding a piece of paper. Emma was instantly worried.
"Jade, what is it? Is everything okay?" Jade looked up and her and her face smoothed over. She gave a sheepish smile.
"Yeah everything's fine. Sorry. It's just ... the Head Mistress gave out a letter to all the student saying that the FBI is calling off the investigation. They're labeling it a cold case."
Emma gave a confused expression. "Why is that a bad thing? Now we can get to all our classes easier."
Jade gave a frustrated sigh. "Emma! You don't get it! The killer is still out there! It has to be one of the students. Or one of the teachers. It worries me that the killer is going to stick again!" Jade stopped realizing her outburst. "I'm sorry," she said softly.
"Its alright, Jade. Nothings going to happen. Trust me," Emma reassured, walking over and puttinga hand on Jade's shoulder.
