It was the next day. They were strolling through the woods while Kai was getting some tools. Damon and Bonnie were at the front and Evie was behind them, still slightly angry at Bonnie; she was only glad that the witch finally caved in.

Evangeline knew, in that moment, that Klaus Mikaelson was right; people respond best to violence. That reminded her, once all this is over, to go visit the Mikaelson family in New Orleans. They may have been the enemy a few years ago, but they were always nice to the youngest Gilbert.

Especially Kol; he liked her stubbornness. But, then, of course, her twin brother daggered him with a white oak stake. Evangeline, being good friends with the youngest Mikaelson son, grieved for days. At the time, she was still human, so getting drunk was much easier. She drank until she passed out, every night. Klaus had to compel her to move on, but it was hard. Evangeline had lost two best friends now. Grief like that doesn't just disappear, even if an Original compels you to forget.

"You're in a good mood for the first time this decade." Bonnie gave him a small smile. Damon poked her with the stick he was holding. "Stop that."

"Because I have a hot date with my girl tonight." The vampire grinned.

"Yeah, assuming Kai's telling the truth." Bonnie said.

"Why would he lie? He wants to go home just as much as we do. If not, more." Evie jumped in, walking next to Damon. Bonnie just rolled her eyes and walked faster, now in front of them.

"Ignore her, Evie. She just hates it when she's not right. Anyway, I'm thinking dinner and a movie...you know what? Screw the dinner and a movie. Skip straight to the good part." Damon smirked. The young girl laughed.

"Yeah. And assuming I can do the spell, which I won't know...until I see it." Bonnie mentioned, dampening the mood again.

"Whatever happened to hope, Bon? Remember when I was all like boo, grr and you were like 'hooray, hooray. We're getting out of here!'?" Damon furrowed his eyebrows.

"Look, I want to go home more than anything but Kai's a sociopath, who's to say he won't screw us over?" Bonnie glared.

"Me, I say, because I will kill Kai and anyone who comes in the way of me going home." Damon replied, doing a weird dance thing with his stick.

"Yeah, same here. And I mean anyone." Evangeline slyly threatened, making a pointed look at Bonnie.

"Okay, I get it, Evie. Your mad. But I'm not letting Kai come with us!" Bonnie shouted, both girls now very pissed off. Evie took a couple challenging steps towards Bonnie in a threatening manner. In defense, Bonnie raised her hand in case she needed to use her magic. Evie narrowed her eyes.

"I heard my name. All good I hope." Kai smiled walking up to the three holding an axe and the ascendant. "Did I walk into another fight? I've always wondered who would win between these two. Damon, what do you think?" Damon gave him an unimpressed look before stepping in between the two girls. "Tough crowd. Anyway, the eclipse will happen directly overhead. In perfect alignment with the Gemini constellation." Kai looked over at Damon, "You need to dig into the tunnels below us."

"Why?" Evie asked. At this point, you could practically see the anger radiating off her in waves.

"Have you never portal-jumped through an eclipse before?" Kai smirked, stepping closer to them. "Okay look, the light of the eclipse will shine down and activate the Ascendant, Bonnie spouts a little witchy woo and then poof! Anyone standing in the circle of light holding the Ascendant goes home." He explained.

"By 'witchy woo', I assume you mean the spell?" Kai nodded. "Let me see it."

"When the time comes." Kai responded. Evie scoffed and took the axe from Kai's hand and started to attack a tree.
