Sanem stood on the deck of their yacht, holding Yildiz in her arms, the day was perfect, fluffy white clouds were decorating the blue sky. The baby was content in her anne's arms, waving at her father who was guiding the boat toward home.
Can had told Sanem to call Mirhiban to let them know that they should be docking in about an hour. When she could see the shoreline line, she yelled back for Can to stop the boat. He did as was asked and walked down to his wife and wrapped both girls in his huge arms. Sanem leaned back against him, while Yildiz pulled on his hair and beard.
"Why did you ask me to stop the boat, Bebek?" he asked.
"Oh, Can, I just wanted a little more time to ourselves. When we dock, everyone will be crowding around us and it will be total chaos. I know that our little one has always been adaptable, especially around strangers, but this is our family and they will have no qualms about trying to hold her and it might scare her. I am not ready for our families to be upset if she does not feel comfortable around them."
"We will explain to them to take their time around her so that she is not scared, our annes will understand."
"Ok, but just a few more minutes, you know they are at the dock, just hold onto us for a few more minutes, please.
"We can spend the night out here if you want and tell them we will be there tomorrow. I am sure they will understand."
Sanem laughed at this, causing him to smile a little but he could see the thoughts running through her head and he thought she might just say yes.
"Oh, Evet, can you call my anne and tell her we decided to not come back until tomorrow. She will swim out to this yacht if she realizes it is us." The look on Can's face when he realized what she was saying made her laugh harder. "I would love to see you explain that to her, Kalbim, my heart."
They stood there holding on to each other until Yildiz decided enough, she pushed her Anne away and reached for her Baba, who gladly took her in his arms and walked back to the helm. Sanem followed so that she could take the baby when he needed to dock the boat. After he started the boat again, they looked at each other and both sighed. They were both ready to be home, especially now, but their peaceful and quiet life was about to end.
