Metin walked into the court room, he did this before his clients arrived, it seemed to settle his nerves and gave him focus, usually, but not today. Today a lot was riding on the out come of the trial for his friend Can. If they lost the case, Huma would be able to steal the agency. Then, of course, the visitation rights to see Yildiz would also be determined today. This was Can and Sanem's main concern, Can could live without the agency but not with Huma back in their personal life. Hopefully, everything would be resolved in favor of his friends. They had the law on their side but knowing Huma she would have some dirty tricks up her sleeve.
He had tried to prepare Can and Sanem for the worse. He had told Can he would have to contain his anger in the court room so that the judge wouldn't use that against them. Metin knew his friend though and how much he hated to be treated unfairly. Sanem though was a sweetheart, her compassion for others and her sincere goodness would work in their favor.
He walked back out into the hallway waiting for Can and Sanem to arrive. Their parents would be with along with Yildiz, who the judge had required to be at the hearing. Cey Cey and Deren would also be called as witnesses along with Emre and if needed Leila.
Metin heard a loud noise around the corner and looked up to see at least a dozen reporters following Huma and her attorney down the hallway. He shook his head, of course, she would have called the press. Her attorney, Hikmet, walked over and shook his hand.
"I had no idea about the reporters and I can tell you I am not pleased at all with her doing this." he shook his head "If I were you I would call and warn my clients, you might also have the bailiff designate a room for your witnesses. Especially since the child will be here."
Metin, knew this guy was an upstanding person, and he was glad he did not seemed to be taken with Huma's actions. Metin shook his hand again and then walked off, pulling out his phone to warn Can. He then went in search of a bailiff to find an area where his clients and family could wait until the hearing started.
When they arrived, they walked past the reporters with their heads held high, not responding to the questions being thrown at them. Metin led them into the room that had been provided for them until the hearing would start.
"What the hell are these reporters doing here?" Can asked.
"Huma, you know her, she wants as much attention as she can get. I sure hope that works against her today when the judge finds out." Metin answered.
After a half hour had past, the bailiff returned to take them to the court room. When they entered, they were all shocked to see Polen and Yigit sitting behind Huma.
Polen stood up and walked toward Can, when she leaned in to kiss him, he shook his head and backed away.
"Can" she said.
"What are you doing here Polen? Nothing that will take place in this court room has anything to do with you." he said. He looked over at Sanem, who's face had paled. She was holding onto Yildiz tightly. He reached over and placed his hand on her back and pulled her closer to him.
"Can, I am here for both you and Huma. She asked me to be with her today and I know that you would want me here to be by your side also." she answered, she looked over at Sanem. "Who's child is this? Certainly not yours Can, she looks nothing like you. Did you feel pity for the mahala girl because someone else had gotten her pregnant?"
Sanem opened her mouth to speak but before she could Mirhiban spoke up.
" First, of all, he is a married man and I believe that he a long time ago told you, several times, he had no feelings other than friendship for you. Second, his wife and family are by his side and I am sure we are a stronger support system for him than you since Huma convinced you to side with her. And third, you as a woman of your so called social status should have more respect for herself than you apparently do."
