Kalila's pov continued

"You think you can get away don't you!" I mocked as I ran down the street chasing after the shadow. Malachi had been heading close to an ally way which was good because nobody would see and it would be perfect to get rid of the shadow. My best bet was to attack at the head since the rest of the body was transparent until you beat the shadow enough causing its weak point to show up. Malachi was now in the ally way the Betsalel was closing in, now it was my chance. I could feel Gafna's power surge through me and and as I cornered the shadow I wasted no time. They can't have the chosen. I stuck out my hand with my seal and watched as Gafna's vines encased around it making it like a tentacle. "Don't worry Malachi, I'll take care of this!" I reassured and lunged forward. Betsalel were pretty fast and it took focus and concentration to get them. Like I said I've defeated some but they are not easy to take down. My arm whiped forward landing a good hit before it disappeared. I felt it close in behind and dodged quickly. Its hollow eyes were vacant and sou less hungry for darkness and suffering. Suffering I wouldn't allow. I swung my arm forward again. It missed. I cursed alittle and continued focusing on its head.

Malachi's Pov

I couldn't believe what was happening. Is this a dream? I mean one moment it was amazing and now it all turned into a nightmare. I couldn't believe it at all. Kalila shes so different, and that thing that's trying to get me it looked exactly like the one in my dream. "This can't be happening." I told myself clenching my head as if I had a huge headache. "Tell me this is a joke I don't care anymore just stop." I brought myself to the ground. Get ahold of yourself Malachi! Do you see Kalila? She's fighting that thing and she might get killed! But she said she'll be alright. Go help her! I'm scared I can't, I can't do it. I watched as Kalila almost dodged a hit but failed and it slashed her shoulder she didn't cry out in pain but she grabbed ahold of it and attempted to ignore it. She's so different. I never knew this side of her before. Are you just going to stand there and let her get hurt? No but... Do something!! My expression sobered and I looked around for a weapon. Luckily, there was a rusty pipe that was tossed in the garbage can. I reached for it. The body was so transparent. My best bet was to attack the head and with that I raised the pipe in my hand like a sword. The next part was just so fluid and fast I didn't even know I did it. As I ran I jumped and as I did the weapon was ready and went clean onto the head of the monster. Perfect hit. The shadow went crazy and was as if it was morphing into something else and then this red light formed on it. "That's The weak point Malachi; HIt it!"  Still surprised at what I just did, I hesitated for that moment, and when I was about to get it again, The monster retreated.

There was no longer this cold air around me. It was gone but for now. My adrenaline relented and it was back to reality. I dropped the pipe and the looked to the ground. I couldn't speak anymore. This wasn't a dream at all it was real. very real. I heard the soft panting of exhaustion. Kalila's arm returned to normal. I couldn't look her in the eyes directly. "Are you alright Malachi?" "Yeah I-" Just then pain surged through my left hand and  I clinched it. This warm pain in the center was throbbing badly. It hurt so much I cried out in pain. "Malachi!" Kalila rushed to my side. "Just try to relax ok it will only hurt for a brief moment." "Relax?" I commented while she attempted to soothe me as the throbbing continued. "What's happening to me?!" I blinked a couple times before actually seeing it with my own eyes. My hand in the center had a glowing circle under the skin. I wanted to freak out. It disgusted me too, I just wanted to turn around and puke. God, I hope that it wouldn't come out destroying my hand completely. I fought back tears and tried to suck it up. Didn't want to look like a wimp in front of Kalila.

I thought it would never go away, but it did. After a few minutes I sat on the ground. "I-I'm sorry Malachi I didn't want to put you in such trouble, but I had to tell you or else they would have got to you sooner." "They?" "That shadow-Its a betsalel." "That thing? It was pretty freaking creepy to me." I said clutching my hand on the center making sure that thing wouldn't pop up from it. "Do you believe me now?" "Yeah-I- Its just hard to wrap around is all." "I know right, I had the same problem to, and trust me it was no walk in the park." She touched her arm and winced a little. "Do you need anything Kalila, your hurt." "Nah, I'll be fine. You should be concerned about yourself right now anyways, or more like I should be that is." "So your like a guardian huh?" "You could say so. No harm should be brought to you. It was said that no matter what the cost even if it meant my life." her sentence paralyzed me for a second there. The thought of her dying from those things-I don't know what I'd do. "But don't worry I can handle myself, I've taken them on before so no need to get concerned like I said." I glanced at her arm she seemed to be taking the pain well despite how bad it was a long gash went from her shoulder to her elbow."  "I really don't think it would be a wise idea for you to go home like that though." I advised. "I can handle it Malachi." She replied. "We should both be getting home really, my parents are probably worried sick about me right  now." I stood up and dusted my pants off. There was going to be alot of explaining to do when I got home. "Yeah I guess we should head out."  she gave me a look "I think I'll be ok for tonight Kalila." She gave a slight nod and began walking.
