I locked myself quickly into the safety of my home.
I began to question whether it was my mother on the phone earlier.
I got out of my wet clothes and put on my warm pajamas and began to brush my teeth. The minty paste filled my mouth with freshness as I cleaned each individual tooth. I looked up into the mirror, imagining a grim figure standing behind me. I guess I was still stunned by the recent meeting with a mysterious old man.
I climbed into my warm bed, although I couldn't seem to relax. I listened. All I could hear was the loneliness of my house flooding the air.
CRASH!
I jumped up, hurried down the stairs, switched the light on and looked around. Nothingness filled the living-room as the destroyed vase caught my eye. I cleaned up the pieces and blamed the mess on the cat. I reluctantly paced up the stairs and climbed back into the once warm bed that became cold and fell asleep.
The morning sun spread across the room as I rolled out of bed and got ready for the day ahead. I waddled down the stairs and opened the old rusty blinds. The sun seeped through the lines, as if the stormy weather last night had never happened.
The door creaked open as I stepped out into the cold morning sun. The fresh air hit my warm face as I stepped down the walkway.
Another day was about to begin.
