Bas was a regular human being.
If people were asked one thing to describe Bas, the one thing that they would say is: kind.
He was the type of person to help rather than look away. He had the softest and kindest heart on the face of the earth, not shying from any sorts of kindness that he could offer.
Being an orphan at an early age, who was adopted by a nice couple, Bas did everything that he could to give kindness to other people. During his stay in the orphanage, he had experienced such great sadness and loneliness, wishing for someone to come and save him.
"Bas, are you ready yet?" A manly voice boomed across the hall.
"Almost Pa! I'm just finishing up!" Bas said as he fixed his dress shirt. It was the first day of his job at GT Corporations, one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in Thailand. Bas had thanked the heavens that he was immediately accepted by the Marketing Department as an assistant to one of the big bosses in the department. He did his best and had landed the job immediately. To say that his family had been happy is an understatement, it took a whole lot of convincing for Bas to get stop his parents from throwing a party. (A/N: I'm not entirely sure how high up the position is, but since this is fiction, just let this slide. So many things can happen in a story.)
"Bas! Are you finished yet?! Come on you are going to be late!" The manly voice once again yelled from down the stairs.
"I'll be right down!" Bas yelled in reply. He chuckled at the force that is his Pa' voice.
"To think that all these years, We still haven't gone deaf yet." Bas thought to himself, giggling at his inner dialogue. He picked up his things and went down the stairs, to where his parents have been waiting for him.
"There you are! It's your first day at work, and you are going to be late! Now sit down and eat your breakfast quickly before you hit traffic." The manly voice said scolding Bas.
"Good morning to you as well, Pa." Bas said putting his things down beside him and looking at his plate. It was filled with eggs, some bacon, and a few breakfast sausages. Bas' stomach started to grumble in hunger at the aromatic smell of the food, beginning to devour the delicious food prepared by his father.
"Come now Tul, it's the boy's first day. I'm sure that his boss is not going to expect him that early." Another manly voice said , to which the owner was reading the paper.
"I'm still not risking our son being late on his first day, Max. And don't pass your laziness onto our son. I had to do all the work just to get him up in the morning..." Tul said grumbling. Bas just stared at his parents bickering with amused eyes. After all the years that he has entered this household, there was never a dull moment with his parents.
Max Nattapol Diloknawarit and Tul Pakorn Thanasrivanitchai-Diloknawarit, the wonderful gay couple that had adopted him when he was 7 years old, were a blessing for him. It was his dream to be adopted by a loving family. When Max and Tul came to the orphanage, their eyes were automatically drawn to Bas who was busy playing with the 3 year olds in the group. Tul's heart immediately softened upon sight, as Max felt his husband's plead. They automatically asked for Bas' information, adopting him right away. Bas was bot happy and sad the day that he was adopted. Happy because a loving couple, even though both were male, had wanted him to be a part of their growing family, and sad because he had to leave the friends that he had made in the orphanage.
"Dad, Pa, I'm fine. They told me to be there by 9 AM. It's only 7:30 AM okay? Plus, the office is just a few minutes away from here. So even if there is traffic, I'll still get there in about 30 minutes..." Bas reasoned to both his fathers. Max had an amused face seeing his husband think over his son's reasoning, nodding and accepting the reason.
