...

I have no excuse really.

This chapter is LOOOOONG overdue.

Like 3-4 months overdue lol. I finally got the time to write it, but next week is the start of my 2nd semester.

I would like to focus on my studies for a while if you all don't mind. The 2nd book of my nursing/medical story will be postponed until further notice so please, do wait for it.

In the last chapter, the two were so close to meeting, yet it seems that their time was not yet here. What do you think will happen now?

A lot of things will happen in this chapter~!

As Bas rode down the elevator towards his floor, he smiled to himself thinking of the nice secretary of the CEO. Usually, he would read some stories or watch some series where the secretary was a mean, old grouch that bit off people's heads for being in the same room with her. Now, Julia was the perfect definition of a wonderful secretary. Even though he just began on that day, he never felt any judgment or even any superior of his looking down on him for being just an assistant. (A/N: A lot of things have happened on Bas's first day at work huh?)

The elevator dinged on the sixth floor, as the doors slowly opened to reveal his department. As he got out the door, he suddenly felt his heart fluttering for some unknown reasons. His head decided to turn to the adjacent elevator, catching a glimpse of a tall man's back and shoes. He felt his own cardiac muscle skip a beat, grimacing in wonder as to why he was affected by the strange man. He placed his hand on his chest, rubbing it to calm down his overexcited heart, walking towards his desk.

As he approached Copter's door, he could still feel his heart fluttering with excitement. He shook his head, not understanding himself anymore. He knocked on the door, wanting to inform his boss of the development with the contracts.

"Come in."

"P'Copter, it's me..." Bas said entering the office, curious as to why his boss held a shocked face.

"Nong Bas! Did you just come down?" Copter asked, shocked at his assistant's appearance. Bas was confused as to why his boss looked like a child caught doing something wrong.

"Yes, P'. P'Julia said that the CEO was not in his office right now, so she let me leave the contracts with her and she'll call when I can pick them up later." Bas explained the absence of the contracts Copter had him sign.

"O-oh. Okay then. You can go back to work now, Bas." Copter said almost laughing at the predicament that his visitor earlier has entered. He couldn't help but cackle internally at the sheer stupidity of his friend.

Bas just shook his head, seeing his boss turn red from trying not to laugh. He doesn't know what was happening to him, but he would just ignore it, for now, seeing as it was none of his business, probably.

As Bas returned to his desk, he received a call on his phone. Picking it up and smiling, he answered the call.

"Hello."

"Hey, sweetie, how's your first day at work?" His Pa, Tul, called him in a chirpy tone. Bas smiled hearing his Pa check upon him. While unnecessary, it was heartwarming to feel.

"I'm doing great, Pa. My boss is great and super kind, I met a new friend, and even some of the senior staff here at the company. I'll try to get home before dinner." Bas said to his adoptive father, knowing that family dinners were important to him now seeing as the two occupants of the house were gone for almost all day.
