"you shouldn't be up," chaeyoung murmured, frowning slightly as she watched jisoo dress.
the older girl had managed to successfully pull on her skirt, refusing chaeyoung's help, but she was struggling with her uniformed undershirt, visibly wincing as she attempted to pull the material up and over her head.
as she did so, chaeyoung caught sight of her bare torso. the prominent angry scratch from where a lone glass shrapnel had scraped her. "miss sook says you're not ready."
"she's wrong."
"i don't think she is," chaeyoung replied, and her expression softened somewhat. "you have to be careful, ji—you'll faint or fall over otherwise."
jisoo glanced at her then before renewing her struggles. chaeyoung had been more than aware of the fact that jisoo was feeling pent-up and useless where she was;
namjoon had been by to see her more than once, his expression worried and concerned, and seokjin had already had to force jisoo back into bed—something jisoo had allowed because she was still aware of how she'd hurt him.
she'd already attempted to get up, late last night, obviously hoping to sneak away while there was no one to kick up a fuss about it all—but seokjin had been there, sat like a soldier by her bedside, and it had taken very little effort to push jisoo back down onto the bed.
namjoon, upon hearing about the entire thing, had snapped irritably at jisoo, jabbing a finger at her, before disappearing without saying another word.
now, though, it was chaeyoung's turn.
"aish, please just stay here—only for another day, stop being troublesome." she tried, biting her lip.
"are they arriving tonight?"
chaeyoung fell silent, then.
she knew exactly who jisoo was talking about—she didn't even have to look up at her. instead, she was bent forwards, long hair in disarray after she'd nestled it multiple times throughout their conversation.
word really did travel inhumanely fast these days.
jisoo had given up on the shirt, if only for a second, but her entire posture was eager and alert. her silence was obviously the answer she'd been waiting for—if anything, it said more than enough. chaeyoung had no news.
while she knew of the representatives of the vampire conclave coming to visit allegra, as with all the preparation bustling around the whole realm, chaeyoung had no idea as to whether or not they'd be coming to the academy.
chaeyoung hoped they didn't or else tonight would possibly be last day she lived in secrecy or even lived—for she would never let one of them breathe in the same air as her before hell froze over.
chaeyoung's gaze fell to the floor.
"no one knows."
"i see," jisoo replied, almost curtly, and then went back to dressing herself.
