Thunk

I landed on something solid.

I wrenched my eyes open and found myself staring straight up at the sky.

The wind still whooshed past and I was moving.

I forced myself to sit up. Henry and the Twinkling Sapphire were only a short distance away.

The island seemed much bigger now. I looked down and there it was. Another Twinkling Sapphire.

This one was smaller and moving at a slower pace. It must have saved me when I was falling into the ocean.

As we got closer to the island, I could make out a beautiful carpet of lush greenery, and elegant, oddly-shaped trees covered in blooming flowers. I could no longer see the four distinct biomes. My ride pressed on. Henry and his ride had already made it onto the island.

There was a man standing on the edge of the island. He wore a lavish, dark red tuxedo with coattails that seem to hover just above the ground. He greeted Henry as he arrived.

Soon, I arrived on the island as well.

"Thank you," I whispered to the Twinkling Sapphire as I gently placed a hand on its head.

It subtly nodded and disappeared into the sea with the other one.

I turned towards Henry and the man.

Now that I'm looking up close, the man had a curly mustache, the ones with twirly ends. He had slick, black hair and his coat had gold embroideries all over the coat's outer edge. His black leather shoes had a pointed end that stuck up and he wore white gloves. He peered at me curiously with these emerald green eyes as he noticed me.

He looked at Henry with a shocking expression before recomposing himself and looking back at me.

He cleared his throat.

"Ms. Seasons?" he said as he extended his hand and bowed.

He had a gentle, soothing voice.

"What?" I blurted out.

"You are Ms. Seasons, yes?" he asked.

"She is," Henry said.

Henry gave the man a pointed look.

The man straightened up and had a look of realisation.

"Ah, right. Apologies, Ms. Seasons,"

He smoothed down his coat before continuing.

"I am Ramone. Welcome to Penumbra. I will be escorting you to your mother,"

"Uhm, nice to meet you?" I said.

He smiled.

"It is nice to have you back, Ms. Seasons," he said.

He turned to Henry.
