Lost [Benton Dusk x Reader] OLD//REWRITING

Chapter Six

Benton had gone in to help with Strata a few hours ago and you sat in his office awaiting his return. The place was so huge. And it had a tiny desk with a computer on it.

You could imagine so many ways of making the room more interesting. It would be fun to redecorate but Benton obviously liked it this way and you didn't want to ruin it. You also couldn't do anything about it because it was his office. Obviously.

Boredom finally got the best of you and you took the dumb chance to zip out of the room. There had been someone you wanted to see.

You snuck through the hallways and finally made it to the laboratory Benton had shown you. You had no idea how to open it so you gently tapped on the door in hopes of something happening. It would have security. Right? You saw a hand pad and pressed your hand against it. The door slid open and you narrowed your eyes. Maybe Benton had added you into the access systems?

Well, that was the least of your worries as you skipped into the room. It was peaceful and dark. The only thing eminating light was the canister in the middle of the room. The round rock floated in it. You slowly walked over and pressed your hand against the glass. A small wave of energy jolted through you. Hydranoid was still sleeping.

Axe and Leo climbed out of your pocket and onto your hand. They also looked at the fossil. "I hope he wakes up soon." Axe sighed and you nodded. "It would be nice to see him again, eh?"

As soon as you said that you were struck with a sudden migraine. You doubled over and grunted, "What the fuck?" Your bakugan had fallen to the floor with your sudden movement.

"Are you okay?!" Leo yelled and tried to climb up your leg. "I'm okay. I keep getting these every time I try to remember something from my past. I know this Bakugan. You know him too. We talk like we've met before but that's impossible." You rambled.

Leo sighed, his head drooped slightly. "It's been hard for us all. Even I can't remember things. But, we've got to keep going. It's the only way for is to find our brother. If we find him we should be able to fix the bond and remember."

"Yea. I think that because you are our brawler, you have become apart of the family. Unfortunately that means you are suffering from the loss we are. In theory we're incomplete without each other. You might have become looped into that. It would explain why you can use bakugan." Axe theorized and you nodded, giving the two a smile. They were super supportive and helpful when these things happened.

"Thanks guys. Your my family too. I promise that we'll find your brother!" You said and gently hugged them. You sat back and looked up at the container emanating a soft blue glow. The floating fossil almost mesmerizing at this point. You sighed. This was peaceful. You'd have to do this again some time.

Unbeknownst to you, the door had slid open.

"What are you doing in here?!" Benton yelled and grabbed you. He roughly dragged you out and toward his office. "I thought I told you to stay here." He growled. This wasn't the normal Benton. You quickly stood up and apologized. A glint of red flashed in his eyes.

"I'm sorry. I got bored and wanted to see the bakugan. I was able to open the door so I thought you wouldn't mind."

Benton sighed and relaxed, "I'm sorry for getting mad. I don't know what came over me."

You nodded. Everyone had their ups and downs. Even you. Especially you.

Benton rubbed his wrist. Almost as if it hurt. You gently grabbed his arm and pulled it toward you. "Hey," he complained but let you look at it. There was a scratch. A small stream of blood ran out of it. The area around looked irritated and bruised. You sighed. "Let's get you fixed up."

You reached into your coat pocket and pulled out a small box. It contained some alchohol wipes, plasters and a gauze wrap.

"This is gonna hurt a bit. Also, tell me how you got this." You asked and gently unwrapped the wipes.

"I was attempting to interview Strata but he grabbed my arm and wouldn't let go. We had to close the unit he was in and he finally let go." Benton explained as you gently wiped the edges of the wound. "Mmhmm," you acknowledged, "Strata didn't look too good."

Benton hissed as you brushed the alchohol wipes on the wound but kept still. You had finally finished cleaning the wound and grabbed your gauze wrap. You gently wrapped it around his wrist and stuck it down.

"Thanks." Benton smiled and let his wrist fall out of your hands. "It's all right. Just make sure you don't come see me with your leg chopped off. You'll probably die." You joked and Benton chuckled, shaking his head. Benton leaned on your shoulder and sighed. He looked extremely tired.

"How about you get some rest." You suggested and wrapped his arm around your shoulder, half carrying him. He nodded and walked with you. It was a short walk to his room. Seeing as it was in the same building.

You opened the door and walked him to his bed. He sat down and yawned. You waved goodnight and walked out, leaving him to prepare for bed. It was quite late and you were tired.

After quietly closing his door you made your way to your own room and walked inside. You changed into your night clothes and gently placed Axe and Leo in their custom made nightstand bed. They said goodnight as you jumped in your own bed a pulled the blankets close. Once you were all snuggled up you yawned and closed your eyes.

Many thoughts fought for your attention and you tried your best to ignore them, knowing that they would give you a headache. You hoped you would soon regain your memory. It's not like you forgot everything but a huge chunk of your life was missing, only showing up in little fragments and flashes. The idea of one day getting the other Arch back made you smile. You couldn't wait till the day you would once again battle with your three bakugan.

With your mind finally at ease you turned over and readjusted you blankets, letting yourself drift off into a comfortable sleep.
