Orianna's POV
I sigh as I plop down on the couch. My body was extremely tired after going through a long day and night. I don't know what I was thinking when I'd actually agreed to go on a double date with Lani before work.
The date was excruciatingly boring and long, then we had a hectic night at work.
I lean back on the couch with my scrubs and trainers still on, too tired to take anything off.
After today, or should I say yesterday, I'll never ever, ever agree to go on a date with Lani again.
The guy that was supposed to be my date didn't even show up after I waited for like 3 hours, because I believed that he would show up and was maybe stuck in traffic or was just caught up with something, but after like an hour and a half if given up and wanted to leave but Lani's date showed up and I didn't wanna leave her alone so I sat there and waited for her date to finish, with the hopes that mine would show up, but, I was clearly stood up.
I felt like I was third wheeling on Lani's date and it was so embarrassing that we had a table for four and only three showed up.
At the end of the whole thing, both Lani and I regretted it because even though my date didn't show up, Lani's date was useless as well. I don't know on what planet that guy came from and who told him that he'd get a girl by full-on bragging about himself throughout the whole date and then flirting with Lani.
The one thing I am grateful for though is the fact he paid for food, may the Lord bless his soul for doing that.
I sigh and finally get off the couch with my bag in hand. I sigh again when I see the clothes that I'd work to the date in my bag. What a waste of energy.

"Zoe," I call.
"Yes." I hear her muffled response.
"Come here." I sigh when I realize that Brandon and her are in another argument.
I set the gel and combs down when she takes too long to come.
"What are y'all doing?" I ask when I find Brandon trying to keep Zoe away from him in the bedroom.
"I don't know what's wrong with her?" Brandon says.
"What are you doing, Zoe?"
"Brandon ate my egg." She angrily said while puffing her chubby cheeks.
"We had breakfast a couple hours ago, Zoe. Why are you only doing this now?" I ask.
"Because Brandon told me now. He ate my egg when I was washing my hands in the kitchen." She stomps her feet.
"Zoe, I don't have time for this, okay? Now come, I have to braid your hair." I say, making her pause trying to bite Brandon.
"What?" She soberly asks.
"I have to braid your hair before it shrinks or something." I say, automatically making tears gather at her eyes.
"But, why?"
"Don't you want to have long curls?" I ask, trying to bribe her with something because I know she absolutely detests doing her hair.
