Everything was black and time seemed to have paused. I was aware I wasn't conscious but I wasn't dreaming. It felt like a weird daydream until a cold splash took me back to the real world.
My vision was blurry for a moment but I was soon able to focus on Grace leaning down over me, clearly concerned. A wave of relief washed over her when I started moving to get up, but being forced to stop midway due to the pinging pain in my head. It soon faded and I was able to sit up and look around.
The crowd was still gathered around what I assume was Kelly, though I couldn't see anything through all the legs. Some were very hairy. Anyway, moving on from the legs, I could see Blake being escorted to the office by a teacher and Blake kept trying to pull out of the teacher's grip but it was a pe teacher so he had no luck. The sight of him made me want to throw up and I quickly turned away.
The sound of sirens pierced my ears as an ambulance slowly drove around buildings to safely get to Kelly.
Wow. How bad was that hit?
I feel myself worrying and I guess I didn't even try and hide it because I felt 4 arms around my body, consoling me.
I soon figured out it was 2 people and not some incredibly friendly mutant, though that's not too far off.
"Shh Audrey, it's okay, the paramedics are getting him into the ambo now, he's in good hands." I heard Olivia say softly.
"And I'm sure Blake will get what he deserves, maybe the girls he's tried to seduce will use this as an opportunity to take him down and he'll do some time!" Grace said enthusiastically, making me smile. I'm glad Blake will get punished this time, there's no snaking out of this one, jock boy.
The crowd slowly dispersed, everyone gossiping about what happened. The bell went early and it was an assembly bell, ugh.
Everyone made their way into the cola which didn't take long, seeing as most of the school was near the fight and the cola is right next to where we were.
The deputy got everyone settled and started addressing the event that had just occurred.
"We have no status on how Kelly Garner is doing, all we know as of the moment is that he has been transported to hospital and is not yet conscious. There is also no word on Blake Latheral, though we are certain he will have very big consequences for his actions. If anyone knows anything about the incident, please go to the front office after you are dismissed from this assembly. Everyone else is to head to class."
That's the main part I focused on. I was upset that they couldn't tell us anything, though it had only just happened.
Kelly's POV
"Don't worry, Mrs Garner, your son should regain consciousness soon, he has a mild concussion and is a bit more dehydrated than we'd like which is why he has the Iv but he will need to stay overnight for observation. He should be looking at getting discharged by tomorrow afternoon."
I woke up to a hand on top of my own and a slight pain in my left hand from which I can only assume to be an iv. The rhythmic beeping of the heart monitor sends shocks of pain through my head and I groan when it doesn't cease.
"Kelly, sweetie, I was worried sick! What are you thinking, getting yourself into fights?!"
"Mum, please, not right now. My head already hurts without your screech of a voice telling me how I should live my life as if you even care."
"How dare you say such a thing to your mother! I do care about you, honey, and don't you ever doubt it!"
My mum goes to touch my face but I hit her hand away.
