Before the vanishing

The Vent

15 helped his sister up into the vents and later their roommates helped 15 up. " Are you guys sure you don't want to come with us? " said 15 a little shakily. The kids refused. The two crawled through the vents.

The vents were small and filled with dust and dirt, and every once in a while there would be an opening to a different part of the facility. They passed the rainbow room, sunflower room but then came across this area neither of the kids have ever seen. They both stopped crawling and observed what was doing on underneath them.

There were these big machines that were flickering with information and there were many scientists rushing around in their lab coats. There was this huge glass window that looked into another room. Suddenly, a man in a yellow suit from head to toe walked across the room and to a double door. He walked into the tiny room and smoke filled up the room. Once the smoke dissappeared the man in yellow was in the huge room. The siblings moved their eyes in the direction of the man. Everywhere around him were these flakes of what looked like ashes. He walked up to a huge glowing thing in the wall. He broke through the slime and muck and got in. The kids didn't see him after. They decided to keep moving. The vents were like a maze except a lot smaller and darker and not to mention scarier.

After some time of crawling through vents they finally saw the exit to the facility. They jumped down and immediately took cover. It wasn't until they knew the coast was clear that they ran out of the doors and took cover over and over until they reached the barbed wire fence that circled the perimeter. 6 took her brother's hand and in a second were on the other side of the fence. They have never been this far. They were afraid of what was awaiting them in this forest and then the big world in front of them. They didn't pause for long because after a few minutes the alarms went off. The bad men found out what had happened. The siblings started to run.
