A'leah

I entered KodMia studios, clutching my coat towards my chest. Woman strutted around in designer labels on their backs, ass hanging out, boobs spilling out their tops and dresses.

A few females turned their noses up at me once they saw what I was wearing.

I ignored every dirty look shot my way and approached the receptionist at her desk. She was a thin asian woman dressed in Vera Wang head to toe.

Once she noticed me and stopped typing on her computer, giving me her attention.

"Excuse me miss, are you lost?" I was taken back by her comment.

Here I was lying to my man about my whereabouts and I'm being disrespected by a Ni Hao Ki Lan wanna be.

"No, I'm not lost. Is there a man by the name of Marké working here?" She arose her eyebrow in puzzlement.

"What would Marké want with a woman that appears to shop at a homeless shelter?" Her face had disgust written all over it.

"Look-" Her name tag read Yajái. "Yajaí, Ying ho, Kung pow whatever the hell you call yourself. Labels on your back without a degree ain't shit. You've obviously forgotten who you were before you were spoiled with this materialistic shit. Don't think that for one second I won't reach over this desk and beat your ass. I'm not the one to mess with boo."

LaToya strutted towards us shaking her head, prying me away from Kung ho's desk. I was two seconds away from beating that bitch up.

"Jaí you always messin' wit somebody damn. Marké needa fire ya ass. Come on A'leah."

I followed her out of the lobby, as we made our way to the elevator. Her hair was now shades of auburn. Jimmie choo's covered her feet, D&G complimented her figure nicely.

"How do you know her?" I asked.

"Jaí has been here since i first started in the industry. Her old ass should have been fired years ago. Marké only keeps her here because of her financial issue."

"I see why she has a financial issue." We boarded the elevator quickly before it closed on us.

"So let me fill you in on what your getting into. Prepare for constant workout sessions. Every rapper out there love a woman who can stay in shape.

Besides, if your their man girl in their video you must sell what your wearing. Now with your financial situation it won't be a problem. Fitted attire is provided for you.

You can't audition if your gonna be shy. I don't know you that well but you don't seem the shy type after what I just saw."

I laughed at her comment as we stepped off the elevator. Toya continued to fill me on what was expected of me in the industry.

It didn't sound so bad but I wish I hadn't lied to August. We just need the money and I refuse to have him carry us financially by himself.

"So inside the dressing room, there's an outfit with your name on it. You have ten minutes to get dressed."

I nodded and entered the dressing room as the door closed behind me. The room was very spacious and modernly decorated.

A rack of platform designer heels were stacked neatly beside the golden vanity and matching stool. I quickly stripped out of my clothes and put the outfit on.

I was dressed in a white spaghetti strapped crop top, blue high-waisted jeans, cherry colored Louibuttons and a black snapback.

A covergirl makeup kit was placed in front of the mirror with a sticky note attached to it. Without hesitation, I picked it up and read it.
