~Jaune Arc's POV~
I woke up at around 5 in the morning, I don't know. I groaned ever so slightly, slowly sitting up from the bed. I rubbed my head a bit and slowly opened my eyes, looking around a bit. I keep forgetting that I'm not living back at home with my sister. I sighed quietly to myself as I laid back down on the bed, what I believe to be my team now have their own room. Which was nice, don't get me wrong on that. It's been about a week since I arrived here as an emergency cry.

As I was about to close my eyes and try to go back to sleep, I heard a faint knock on my door. 'I wonder who could it possibly be? It's quite late, or early.' I thought to myself and got out of the bed, making my way towards the door. I slowly opened it to not make too much noise, since the doors could be loud sometimes.

It was Pyrrha, which caught me by surprise. "Pyrrha? What are you doing up this early?" I asked quietly, but loud enough for her to hear.

"Hey Jaune.. did I wake you up? I'm truly sorry if I did, I just woke up right now." Pyrrha whispered back, matching my same tone as she rubbed the back of her neck.

"Oh, no, you didn't wake me up. I woke up right now too, come in." I said quietly with a small chuckle, opening the door enough to that she could enter. Which she did as I closed the door behind me. 'She always has that soothing tone to her voice, no matter what the situation is.' I thought to myself as I looked at her, who was standing in the middle of the room.

"So what made you want to come here? Not that I'm complaining, just a bit curious." I said with a small chuckle, sitting on the bed, offering her to sit with me as well.

"My first option was to go outside to the garden and walk around the place, but then I remembered that our rooms aren't too far and decided to check if you were up. Turns out you were." Pyrrha said with a small smile, sitting down next to me.

"Ah, I see. The garden does look quite nice to go there and walk around." I said with a small smile. She then looked at me which made me a bit shy, wondering what she was thinking about me. I swallowed my saliva a bit and tried to act normal.

"Say Jaune, have you ever fought before or been to an academy?" She asked out of the blue, which caught me completely off guard. To be completely honest, I haven't. I've always wanted to be a hero like me grandfather or like the ones in the books. When I say that the Schnee's place was under attack, I used that as an opportunity to go and fight. Even if I've never fought before.

It shows since I got hurt and almost died if it wasn't for one of the others that helped me out. "Um... why do you ask?" I asked with a nervous chuckle, looking at her in the eyes a bit.

"Well, even if we were in battle.. your attacks looked sloppy and your defense was horrible, no offense. I also saw that you almost died if it wasn't for the others that helped you out." She said straight to the point.

I gulped a bit, 'crap, she must think I'm useless now.' I thought to myself and rubbed the back of my neck. "I... no.. I never really fought before or went to an academy to train for that kind of stuff. When I got the notification that the Schnee's place was under attack, I used that as an opportunity to come here and help. I've always wanted to be like my grandfather or the heroes in the books.." I said truthfully, feeling a bit stupid.

I knew that Pyrrha listened to every word I said, it showed since she was giving me her full attention. "Well, have you ever tried to use your aura?" She asked curiously.

"The what now?"

"You're aura Jaune."

I blinked a bit, visibly confused. I have no clue what she's talking about. "What's an aura?" I asked.

"Aura is the manifestation of our soul. It bears our burdens and shields our hearts. Have you ever felt you were being watched without knowing that someone was there?" Pyrrha asked at the end.

"Ohh, so it's like a force field?" I asked and nodded my head to her last question.

"If you want to put it that way then yes." She said with a small giggle, placing her hand on my shoulder. "Close your eyes and try relaxing." She said calmly and closed her eyes soon after.

I did as I was told and closed my eyes, trying to relax my mind and body. "For it is in passing that we achieve immortality. Through this, we become a paragon of virtue and glory to rise above all, infinite in distance and unbound by death. I release your soul, and by my shoulder protect thee... I used my Aura to unlock yours, but the energy that protects you now is your own." She said as I began to feel weird.

I opened my eyes and saw that we were glowing. Or should I say that I was glowing more. Once whatever Pyrrha did was over, we stopped flowing as she opened her eyes.

"What just happened?" I asked, a bit curious her concerned.

"I used my aura to unlock yours, and you got a lot of it." Pyrrha said softly, with a soft smile on her face. "Well, you're probably tired. You should get some sleep, I'll go and sleep as well." She said and got up, which I stood up after her. I just nodded, trying to process everything that happened as I escorted her out.

"See you in the morning, goodnight Jaune." Pyrrha said calmly and began to walk back to her room.

"Goodnight Pyrrha.." I said quietly yet loud enough for her to hear, closing the door and walked back to the bed. I laid down and pulled the covers over me. I was still thinking about what happened earlier, but I decided to brush it off and get some sleep.

I needed it after all.

~A/N~
Like I said, this chapter is a little different than the others. It seems that Pyrrha's death was overshadowed when she unlocked Jaune's aura. Currently debating whether she should live in this book, or if she should die. Let me know in the comments. Also I'm truly sorry for not updating this book in a while. I was overwhelmed with everything and lost motivation. But I'm back for now, also, I'm class of 2020! I'm graduating! I already got my gap n gown which was free for me but my senior dues weren't. Originally the gap n gown weren't free and were part of my senior dues. But the district/university helped my school out which made it free. I'm so glad that I'm graduating, though it's also sad since it's via Zoom. But it's better to be safe than sorry. Though I have a feeling that it could've been like those drive-in theatre inside or a drive-by type of thing, but oh well, via Zoom works as well. I should also mention that I'm a senior in high school.
