Lizzy
Hello again!
I want to to tell you about my day. Well, actually about a boy.
I've known him since 3 years ago when we sat right next to each other. He's been a really good friend ever since. Both of us like sports, although he likes tennis and I like basketball. We also like books and musics. Sometimes we would sit next to each other and listened to High Musical soundtrack at school. Hehe
So today, the teacher asked us to write about what we want to be in the future. She wanted us to keep the paper and put it in our room as a reminder. She also said something about motivation? I don't even know what that means, but I think it's a good thing.
So i wrote something. I asked Lynn and Lily, about what they wrote. Lynn wants to be a lawyer, she said that lawyer looks cool on movies. Haha
As for Lily, she wants to be a chef. She must've had her Mom's talent for cooking. Her Mom's food is really delicious T_TOh and I also asked him what he wrote. He said he wants to be a doctor. He wants to help a lot of people. He said that he doesn't like seeing people in pain. He wants to help them feel better.
I stayed quiet for a while after hearing that. I thought a lot about what he said and suddenly ashamed about myself, about what I wrote.
He asked me what's mine. I told him that unlike him, I want to be a writer. And I only want to be a writer because I like to write...
Then he said something so memorable that I can still clearly remember the way he said it.
"That's cool. Why are you ashamed of that? My Dad told me that the purpose of every job in this world is to help people. Pilots work to help people reach their destination safely, chefs work to help people fulfil their hunger. And in your case, writers work to cheer people up with their stories. So, I think it's really cool."
I was shocked. He sounded so cool. He's not even a doctor, but I feel better already. It was really good to hear that. Although I didn't know whether his Dad really said that or he just wanted to cheer me up.
Thanks for saying that, Brad. Hopefully we will still remain friends until that day comes.
