I only own Elizabeth Potter and her story line. The rest of the ideas in this book belongs to J.K. Rowling.

(Everything will be from Elizabeth's POV unless I say otherwise.)

I sat between Aurora and McGonagall during the feast. As the older students entered, I was searching for my favourite pair of redheads. I taught all the Weasley's. Not many of them took Arithmancy but I met them when I supplied for other teachers, something I did a lot. What can I say, I like teaching.

Bill was a wonderful student, he would always strike up conversations with me. He was a bit of a trouble maker but that was the trend for these kids. Charlie would constantly chat with me about dragons. Percy was the exception to the trend, he however would always answer the questions I asked in class. Fred and George however were my favourites. (Don't tell the others.)

I always helped the Weasley twins out with their pranks so we became close. I turned a blind eye at the non harmful pranks, seeing as they were just fun. I made eye contact when they entered the great hall. I gave them a wink, letting them know that I bought them some new pranking material.

Once everyone was settled in, Minnie went out to greet the first years. I was so excited. James and Lily's son was going to attend Hogwarts! I wonder if I would get to teach him this year. Maybe I could arrange something with Professor Quirrell this year. I would have to be discreet however, seeing as though I never met him before. There was something about him that I couldn't figure out.

I felt a nudge to my side and saw that the first years were now making their way through the tables. I scanned the crowd and finally saw him. Harry looked exactly like James, but he had Lily's eyes. He was standing next to a red head. He looked like who I presume washes siblings. I would guess that that is Ron Weasley, his older siblings did tell me about him.

The sorting ceremony started. The hat sang the song. And Minnie started calling out the names. Aurora seemed almost emotionless during the process. I got angry at the Weasley twins for booing at the slytherin first year. I didn't have anything against Slytherins, most of the ones I associated with were kind. Well at least to me.

I cheered for every student after they were sorted. A little bit louder for the Hufflepuffs but never mind that. I payed attention when I heard a name I haven't heard of in a long time.

"Longbottom, Neville!" He tripped on his way to the stool. I felt bad for the boy. His parents were always very kind. If he was like them, then he would definitely be in—

"GRYFFINDOR"

"Malfoy, Draco!" So Malfoy's son is hear too? I'm not friends with the Malfoy's but we have been well acquainted once in a while. I prefer talking to Narcissa more. It's always nice to go with them to fancy galas or just a nice afternoon with tea.

"SLYTHERIN" The hat barely touched his head.

The ceremony continued on as normal until a certain was called.

"Potter, Harry!" He stepped forwards. Whispers rang out through the hall. Everyone's eyes were on him. I heard him whispering "not slytherin," again and again. Well if he isn't James's son then I don't know who would be. I got pulled out of my thoughts when I heard the hat yell "GRYFFINDOR."

Harry walked towards the Gryffindor table and he had gotten the loudest cheers. I tried to be discreet but I was too proud. He really is your son James. I can already see it. Harry will be a great wizard. Just like you were I thought.

Turns out, the red head was a Weasley. Not much a surprise that he was put into Gryffindor. The ceremony ended and Dumbledore gave his regular speech. It's like he enjoys making all the first years question his sanity. The feast began and I immediately dug in. I was STARVING.

"Stop eating so fast. You'll make the wrong impression on your students." Aurora commented.

"How dare you. I'm gonna enjoy this meal while I can. I never get tired of the food we get here." I grinned at her. We chatted while we ate for a while until she got into a conversation with Professor Grubbly-Plank. I looked up to see Harry looking at me.

I sent him a smile and noticed he asked Percy about me. I'm really good at reading lips. One of my many talents. Percy said I was mind and the west proceeder. Wait. Maybe he said kind and the best professor. Ok I'm not that good.

Dumbledore gave his announcements and then announced that we would sing our school song and I got excited. It was wonderful chaos. And who doesn't love chaos. We commenced the song and I sang along to the tune of "Seasons of Love" from Rent. Remus and I went to see in it America this summer. I finally convinced him to travel with me.

The Weasley twins were the last ones left and after they finished, Dumbledore dismissed everyone. I walked with Aurora away from the great hall.

"Well, this will be an exciting year. Don't you think?" I asked her before we parted ways.

"Maybe. Hopefully I don't get trapped in cursed ice again. That was a nightmare." She smiled back at me.

"Who knows. But that does sound like a fun prank I could pull." I winked as she rolled her eyes. We said our goodbyes and parted ways. I couldn't help but wonder at what this year would bring.

Once I was back in my room, I changed into my pyjamas (A/N: or pajamas I have no idea what you want to say) and I laid down. Ace jumped onto my bed and I started to drift off to sleep. I would write to Remus tomorrow, telling him all about seeing Harry again. And with that final thought, I went to bed.

A/N: I wonder if anyone is reading this or if I'm just writing here on my own. Oh well I have no idea how this works. I'm really awkward so don't mind me, I'm just gonna keep making thin awkward as things go on.
