"It's one of the difficult moment in my life" Anu's mind voice echoed and screamed across the hall despite of the never ending silence. "Everything was there perfectly but why can't I do it. Ok I'm good, I'm gonna make it happen. I'm gonna make it out alive," Anu muttered under her unsteady breaths.
She closed her eyes to get herself together and gathered everything in her to get it over with.Suddenly something was approaching her from the back; she can feel it even in the darkness. Sweat beads on her forehead showed that she was going to have a breakdown in a minute or later. A large hand landed on her right shoulder and shook her. She breathed heavily and the weight on her shoulder kept increasing by each passing second. She gathered all her strength left in her to stay at the same place and she pried open her eyes to see who or what was shooking her. A sweet unique scent of tonka bean and vanilla mixed with wild rose, cedar and pine needle hits her nose before she opened her eyes. It was a weird combination of smell but she liked it.
When she opened her eyes, so many tables with students came into view, nervousness and silence lingered like a bad taste behind her throat. She saw a hand on her shoulder and she dared to look at the thing with that large hand. Her eyes landed on a handsome boy with dark raven hair with the eyes the color of dark stormy clouds. She stared at him. He has broad shoulders and his fingers on her shoulder was long, slender and elegant. But he had this confused look on his face mixed with concern in his stare brought her back to the present world and that too very slowly. She was confused for a second but she was sure that sweet smell belongs to him. She wanted to replace that look on his face with smile. She wanted to know how he would look while smiling.
"Anu wake up, come to your senses, it's an exam hall at least write something on your damn paper and stop dreaming in the middle of the exam," Dhruv whispered. Anu shook her head and snapped out of the trance.
Anu, then realized that she was in the exam hall. And that handsome guy was not a Prince Charming but Dhruv, who always seated next to her in exam Hall. Today's exam was on Geography, no wonder Anu went to different geographical area in the middle of the exam dreaming a scariest dream. It was her least favorite subject. It was not only subject that scares her but also something about silence creep her out. Whenever silence engulfed her, she would start to hallucinate. It started when she was 10 year old. She always avoid the silent places.
"I know that, mind your own damn business Dhruv and don't scare me with that gaint hand of yours, you are giving me heart attacks," Anu silently whispered in her irritated tone. If it was not an exam hall, she would go toe-to-toe scary-fighting-demon on Dhruv. He rolled his eyes and shook his head with irritated edge. For a slight distracted and disturbed second she thought about sweet cologne that he uses, she wondered every time about that scent but she can't put her hands on that unique smell. It smelled different each time though. She shook her to clear the disturbing thought in her head.
During exam time, Dhruv always seated right next to her. He was a year senior to Anu and he was so famous among girls in the school and obviously it was because of his sports interest. But nothing amused Anu like Geography. Till now she didn't figured out why she hated that subject so much. Today Anu's annoying list was quite small, first her least favorite subject exam and second irritating idiot Dhruv. They hated each other during exam times and they were really good friends during normal days. They both were like opposite poles, they fought for everything but they both have a good bond between them. They would never let each other down in any damn situations.
"Questions are there, pen, paper and sometimes even some answers are lingering somewhere in my damn mind, but why can't I get it on the paper," Anu thought to herself. Anu took a deep breath and began to scribble something on the paper, ignoring the frequent icy cold stares from her right side. After a long lasted 3 hours exam, she let out the sigh of relief.
