"It's not like Alison had a crush on JD. If she did she'd be thinking of her all the time, she'd brighten up every time JD was near, she'd get butterflies every time JD complimented her and she'd --
Fuck.
She had a crush on JD."
☁️☁️☁️
JD is gay. S...
When Alison wakes up the next morning, it's with a horrid headache and in a room that she doesn't recognise as her own. Or recognise as any of the rooms in her house. Or recognise at all.
Shit.
How much did she drink last night, because she wouldn't have agreed to go home with someone sober.
Then she turned her head towards the door as she heard it creak open, apologies already spilling off of her lips when she saw who it was:
"JD?"
The girl in question just smirked, "Hey, princess. I heard you waking up and thought you might want these." She held out a glass of water and an Advil tablet that Alison took with a small 'thank you'.
When her headache ... well it didn't disappeared completely, but when it had calmed down a bit and it didn't feel like someone was repeatedly hitting her head with a hammer, she looked up at JD in confusion. Her question must have been pretty clear on her face, as JD answered it with no further prompting.
"No, we didn't have sex. I slept on the couch."
Oh, thank god.
"Do you, uh, remember anything from last night?" JD continues, almost hopefully.
Alison scrunched her face up and thought back to the night before, but most of it was a just a blur to her, "No, sorry."
"Well then let me be the lucky lady to tell you that Chad is no longer your boyfriend."
What!?
"He broke up with me?"
"Um, not exactly, no."
Alison looked up from where her face was buried in her hands and frowned at JD, "I broke up with him? Why?"
"The rumour that was floating around was that he was forcing himself on you, and apparently you weren't very quiet about not liking that very much," JD joked.
Alison sighed and brushed away a strand of hair that had fallen in front of her face, "Yeah, that sounds like Chad."
JD looked serious, "Doesn't matter, you deserve better than him, princess."
"Wait," Alison said, excitedly as the news about Chad was already pushed from her mind, "did you just call me princess? Does that mean we're cool now?"
JD smiled softly and nodded her head, "Yeah, drunk you made some pretty compelling arguments about how pretty I am and how I give you butterflies. You didn't specify where the butterflies were, though."
She winked, causing Alison to hide her face in her hands again, "I said that?"
"Yeah, don't worry though. This doesn't have to be awkward so I'm fine with pretending that it never happened."
Oh. That's good then.
But, Alison didn't want to pretend it never happened. She did find JD pretty and JD did make her feel as if there were butterflies flying around in her stomach every time she complimented her.
"No ... I, uh ..."
JD stood up and looked at her, subtly reminding Alison of how she looked at her that day at school, not even a week ago, where she suggested a truce between the two. Then, it seemed as if JD had come to a decision as she nodded once then said, "You can borrow some of my clothes in this wardrobe to wear. Then we should talk"
