Worried, Johnny and I left the Observer as soon as possible. I had tinkered with the most long-ranged gun I could find, and attached the invention I had been working on all my life-a sort of ultra-magnifying glass that helped with pin-point accurate aim from extreme distances. Johnny had taken the best gun I found, and I had given him all the tips I could from experience. We were going out to the battlefield, and at the worst case, wind up losing our lives. But I wasn't scared. Rab and Alora may still be there, alive, and fighting for our freedom-like all the other hundreds of people who'd lost their lives for this cause, or is still fighting for it. And I am going to as well.

The long trip was extremely bumpy, and when we had gotten off of Goblin, we let him go-since we knew he can survive even if we may not. Gunshots were heard, extremely loud and too many to count. People were screaming, and Johnny and I found the place the battle was mainly concentrated in. Suddenly, I heard a BOOM, and the leaves under my feet dispersed around us. Somebody had shot towards us. Running as fast as we could, we took cover as we found the medical base of the colonists. I suddenly stopped in horror. In front of me was a bloody figure. The figure looked too much like Rab's. There was another figure hunched over him, desperately trying to stop the bleeding, but with no hope. Alora. Tears didn't even come out from my shock. I was dead-bolted to the ground, and my joints wouldn't move.

Johnny jerked my hand as he ran towards them; "RAB!!! RAB, I SWEAR!!!" I saw a mix of panic, pain, grief in his eyes... and the most slightest bit of hope, that he desperately clung to. I was pulled back to reality as I looked down. My eyes teared up. It had been a short time, but we were best friends. We all were.

Alora was still hastily applying pressure, with the most determined face I had ever seen; "He just needs to last until a master doctor gets here... please!!" Rab was still breathing, though it was getting softer with the passing second. We each grabbed his hands. We couldn't do much other than moral support.

Please, Rab... for us, for Alora, for the country... please live. With one last bandage, Rab was still breathing when Doctor Oswald made it to the scene. He told me and Johnny to help out at the battlefield, and Rab's injuries will be taken care of. My eyes welled up with tears of joy. Miracles... they really do happen.

We turned to take a look at the battlefield in the distance. Once we go out of this safe spot, we'll be risking our lives. Many people have already lost their lives for our cause, and we couldn't let that go to waste.

I looked up at Johnny and gave a slight smile; "Let's do this."

"Yeah, we will." he took me by surprise as he kissed me gently on the lips, and grabbed my hand. We ran to cover as more shots were heard. The sound rang through my ears, rattling my brain. Adrenaline was pumping through my veins, faster than ever before. Here, was a life-or-death situation, and if I get shot, I may not be as lucky as Rab. But whatever the consequences, this was all for us.

"When this is all over, we, all four of us, will live in a peaceful countryside village. We can live together, you know, with Rab and Alora across from us!!" Johnny had said, playfully smiling.

I supported the tip of my gun with a rock as I looked through the glass. A red-coat was falling, and aiming with my perfected skill, I pulled the trigger-hitting dead-center through his mouth, which was open as he fell. One by one, I picked off the soldiers giving our militia trouble, as Johnny fought off people advancing closer. He was quite a fighter-and we made an absolute powerhouse duo. By the time it'd been an hour, us two alone had killed off around 70 soldiers-and the other militiamen, though not as many as us, were taking an advantage against the large army. The other militiamen started to confide in us to take down the strongest forces. We were controlling the militiamen army. Soon enough, the British were completely cornered, by me and Johnny, and our forces..

The other British troops were starting to retreat because of the severe losses they were taking. As I killed one of the last soldiers of the British, I felt a sudden presence behind me. I whirled around just in time to see another soldier, most likely the killed soldier's friend, who'd gone out of line to come kill me. He'd had a gun in his hand, and tears were streaming down his face. A little too far, Johnny had seen the man pointing a gun at me, and was sprinting towards me.

Everything slowed down. I saw an expression I'd never seen on his face. His eyes were wide in horror, and color seemed to have drained from his face.

I gave one last crooked smile at him as I heard the last shot of the Battle of Lexington.

The gunsmoke had floated in the air as the gun aimed at my head, was fired. The man was tackled to the ground by one of us and was pushed out of the way.

I heard a voice that felt so far away; "NO, NO, NO... LAURA, DON'T..." I was held tightly to someone's warm chest... Johnny's. His voice was more broken than the night he had told me of his tragic story. "Don't leave me... please..." Warm tears fell onto my face.

Even he can tell that I couldn't be helped. Through my blurry vision, I had never seen him look so helpless. Missing. It hurt me to see him like this. He gave me my second and final kiss. "I love you, so much..."

"I love y--" I blacked out.

Never was I able to utter the three words I had always wanted to say.

*From one point of this diary entry, it was later written by Alora. She'd known all of Laura's feelings, and captured it just as Laura would have.
