*Pre-written letter to Johnny before they went to war, given to a definite survivor of the war to pass it to him.

Dear Johnny,

Miracles do happen. For all of us, we all get what we'd always wanted. Rab-who'd always wanted to be a soldier, Alora-who'd always wanted to live her own life, and you, who'd wanted to be free. In my case... Well, I may not have seen the very end of the war.

But my miracle is that I met you. You don't know how much you've changed my life. From a life of cross-dressing to have food in my mouth, fearing death with every passing person on the streets, you were my first friend in years. You reached out to me, not caring what kind of psycho-killer I may have been, and you, with Rab and Alora taught me what friendship is. What true happiness is. It may have been such a limited time, but it was more than enough to fulfill my life. You became more than a friend to me. The way you'd always cared, protected me, comforted me.

I really did want to live a new life with you. So much. I know it's silly but I even began thinking of what life would be like after the war. Maybe we can live somewhere, close to Rab and Alora too. Maybe even have kids. But from the looks of how you received this letter, it probably didn't happen. But ever since you stepped into my life, I started thinking about the future. For my own happiness. You taught me things that I never knew would be so important. I will forever cherish the memories, and the love you had taught me. I can't thank you enough. Now I'm sorry this letter is cheesy and cliche, but

Johnny Tremain, I was and will always be in love with you.

Goodbye.

Sincerely, Laura Gilsworth
