8 Months Later Since the death of Shelby things have been rough. The twins, Mason and Jason, were in charge and even though they are good soldiers they they didn't have a leaders heart. Kathryn and Bethany had started having a serious relationship. Ryker was still mourning Shelby's death even though he knows she'll come back but she won't be the same. His mind was haunted with her smile and her laugh.

Ryker and Marigold have been taking care of Sierra and Amelia. They ask alot about Shelby. It hurts Ryker to see how much they resemble their mother but he knew they needed someone to look after them. Marcus constantly came to check on everything. Today's visit was different. He had important news. Ryker: Hey Marcus Marcus: Ryker i have important information. Ryker: should I get Mason and Jason Marcus: no theres no time Ryker: what do you mean Marcus: Jackson is coming with 100 men its not an army but he knows that you are not very strong. They gathered as many soldiers as possible. 105 the other soldiers wanted to protect their families. Amelia and Sierra: Ryker whats go on Ryker: stay with Marigold girls Marigold rushed the girls to the basement where everyone else had gathered. Ryker, Jason, Mason, Marcus and the soldiers raced outside Jackson: look at you all not so tough without her are you Jason: we are strong enough Jackson: we shall see And the fighting began. Jackson was right they weren't strong enough but that didn't stop them. Ryker defeated 4 men before crossing paths with Jackson Jackson: so your the one who had a hold of her heart Ryker: your the one that broke her Jackson: i made her into what most men would fear. She was my wife.She was mine Ryker: she was your experiment Jackson: she belonged to me im allowed to do what I want with what is mine This angered Ryker and he quickly slashed at Jackson arm with a switch blade. Jackson was quick to react and slashed Rykers back over and over until Ryker was on his knees. Jackson: farewell you bastard Ryker looked at the chaos around him. 50 soldiers lay dead. He thought of Shelby and the last thing she said to him,"i love you." Ryker: Shelby ( he whispered) Jackson was about to slice his neck when a haunting voice began to sing. "She lives in murk and shadow, cold as the alleys of stone. She's a blur in the window, a prisoner of the underworld. She watches life from the gloom, friends she lost and lovers too, that simple life she one knew before the cursed dark consume" Everyone looked to where the voice was coming from. She had a sword in her hand. She looked haunting wearing a dress that went of her shoulders. Her skin was pale. Her voice continued as she walked closer "And every clock is broken and every step is hopeless living in the groom and every day gets longer till no one can remember her , lost in the gloom." As she came close everyone could see who it was. Ryker struggling to breathe: Shelby Jackson filled with fear: yes my experiment is complete Jacksons soldiers started running towards her but Shelby was immortal now and was more stronger and faster than them none of them stood a chance. Her face changed as she grabbed a hold of them.

She had fangs and ice blue eyes that could pierce the soul. One by one she paralyzed each soldier and drank their blood. Their was only 70 men left when she had quenched her thirst. The 70 that was left ran in fear and so did Jackson. After they were gone Jason and Mason slowly walked to Shelby Jason: Shelby? Shelby: blood i smell blood. Ryker Ryker lay dying where Jackson had left him. Shelby: Ryker Shelby bent down besides Ryker Ryker: your alive Shelby: stay still She placed her hands above his body and all his wounds began to heal. When they were all healed Marcus and Jason helped him up. Shelby began to walk away. Marcus: shelby? Shelby looked back and smiled than ran into the forest Ryker: no shelby Ryker ran after her and found her standing in a dark clearing in the forest Ryker: where are you going Shelby: i have to leave Ryker: but you just came back Shelby: its not safe to be around me yet Ryker. I need to get the blood lust under control Ryker: will you return Shelby: when its safe. Tell my daughters I love them. And without another word she ran farther into the woods. She looked back one last time before disappearing into the dark

Leaving Ryker to ponder in his thought before returning back to the mansion. He had just gotten her back and she had to leave again. He knew it pained her to stay away from her children and her people but she had to for their safety. Ryker: come back to us love when your ready. Ryker slowly walks away with a heavy heart thinking of how to tell everyone that they will have to survive without her for alittle while longer, because she was no longer human.
