The nerves tingled every part of your body, your hands were shaking like crazy. You peeked into the audience and scanned over the faces of unfamiliar strangers, hoping to land your eyes on him. You were a fairly well-known singer in LA, and you were okay with performing in front of strangers, but today's performance was different.
Tonight all of your friends from the vlog squad were coming to watch your concert. You had performed in front of your friends multiple times, but you recently had written a new song about your feelings towards one of the guys, Zane Hijazi. You wrote the song as a subtle way to express your feelings without actually coming out and saying it. You heard your manager tell you that you'd be going on in ten minutes, yet you still couldn't find your friends in the audience.
Just as your heart began to sink, thinking they had forgotten about the concert, you saw Zane politely pushing his way to the front of the crowd. He wanted to be front and center for you since he claimed he was your biggest fan. You felt your smile grow bigger as the rest of the squad caught up to Zane, who obviously had left them behind. The lights started to dim and you calmed your nerves as your band took their places on the stage.
Applause erupted the venue as you strutted to the microphone places in the center of the stage. You looked down at your friends, giving a friendly wink to them before starting your first song. Three songs had been performed before the piano was rolled out from backstage, queuing the nerves to come flooding back across your body. It was time to perform your new song. You took your seat at the piano and took a deep breath before addressing the crowd.
"This next song is a new one that I just wrote, and this is actually the first time I am ever performing it, so I'm a little nervous." You nervously laugh as the crowd cheers in encouragement. You hear Zane scream that he loves you, which gives you a tad more confidence to continue on. "This song is dedicated to my best friend, and I hope you guys enjoy it." You announce to the crowd, but you are looking directly at Zane, telling him that you are really just talking to him.
It was all a blur, honestly. You remember starting the song but you must've blacked out because all of a sudden you were done playing and the crowd was clapping again. You took one last look at Zane, who was standing there in complete shock, before getting up from the piano to go into your final song. You pushed his reaction out of your mind long enough to give a solid finale.
Your band crowded you in your dressing room and told you how amazing you had done, and how proud they were of you for performing your new song. There was a knock at the door drawing your attention from your band. Your manager peeked her head in and told you that your friends were outside wanting to see you. You told her to let them in, quickly checking yourself in the mirror to make sure you looked good for them, but mostly Zane.
"Y/n, that was amazing! I knew you had it in you, but you really blew me away!" Corinna cheered, tackling you in a big hug. Everyone took turns hugging you and telling you how great of a job they think you did. Zane hung in the corner, watching you smile along with everyone else. He couldn't believe that the girl of his dreams had actually just publicly announced her feelings for him. He couldn't believe that the girl he was in love with, was in love with him.
"So, y/n, that new song?" David questioned, wiggling his eyebrows and making sure you were in frame for this upcoming vlog. You blushed at his question. You knew your friends would question and tease you, but you also knew you couldn't hold your feelings for Zane in any longer.
"Did you guys like it?" You beamed, hopeful they loved it. Thankfully, everyone did, agreeing it was probably your best song. However, you noticed Zane was still silent in the corner, he hadn't said one word to you yet. "What did you think, Zane?" Everyone turned to him, waiting for his response.
"Can we talk in private?" Zane asked, his voice barely above a whisper. Your heart dropped to your stomach. He was about to reject you, that had to be the only reason why he is asking everyone else to leave. Everyone awkwardly shuffled out of the dressing room, leaving you standing in the center with your heart pounding loudly. "Do you really feel that way, Y/n?"
"Of course I do." You were confused on why he was doubting you. Why would you write that song and perform it if you didn't feel that way about him?
"Please, don't play with my emotions right now." He muttered. You stared at him, unable to process what he was saying to you. "I have been in love with you for such a long time, I just have never been able to find the words to tell you," Zane admitted out loud, lifting a weight off your shoulder. You let go of the breath you didn't even know you were holding.
"Don't mess with me, Hijazi! You scared me, I thought you were going to reject me!" You laughed, wiping away the tears you were fighting back. Zane pulled you into a bear hug, engulfing your nose with his scent.
"I would never reject you. I just wanted you to tell me you loved me without anyone else around. I wanted to make sure it wasn't a stunt or for the vlogs." Zane whispered into your ear. You pulled away, only slightly so you could look up into his eyes.
"I would never lie about how madly in love I am with you." You smiled before leaning in and placing a light kiss against his lips. The two of you were tackled by your friends, who had left the door cracked open in order to hear the conversation. You both laughed along with your friends as they thanked the lord that you two finally were together.
